TBH though at that price point, I’d just buy a mint Japanese one for $5 if I was really that big of a fan of the artwork because for $2k there’s so many more other amazing cards that have a longer history of being at that price due to high demand/rarity/etc that I’d be more comfortable with purchasing
Is this getting slightly out of control now?
I’d think 2k sale will flush a few more onto eBay and those might sit for a bit while the market corrects back to 1.2-1.5k?
Also, how high is the 8 gonna soar to? I don’t even see any listings on eBay right now for an 8.

Unless the next psa 10 copy sells for less than 10k, I think 2k is a fair price point. Obviously no one will take me up on my offer now unless they need cash QUICK. But I feel like because the 10 copy is so scarce, the next time it’s up for auction, that too will also increase. Only psa 10 copy is listed at 25k. The only 9 copy is listed at 4k. Until other copies hit the market, these are our cheapest options

There’s an auction that just finished. A psa 8 holo collection for neo gen. All first edition. There was a psa 9 ampharos in there as well, along with other rare graded cards from that set. The rest of the set was raw. But it sold for 1.5k I think half of that price can be made back by selling the t17 psa 8. The last sale we had was 295. The next one will be double. Easily
@chavycat, yeah you might be right. If there around 100 or so copies, most people who have one by now probably love it and want it as part of their collection. People with duplicates or not as much attachment or other set goals will likely list though and take the huge profits and run.
Will be interesting to see if a surge (3-5) of more copies hit the market now. If not, then yeah, 4k is the cheapest option. Show me a better one.
Good thing I bought that 8 and used the eBay 15% off code and eBay bucks. Cost to me was like $271 after taxes and everything. Easy decision. It’s actually a super clean 8 as well. Beauty card, just slightly off centered, 1 print line, 1 small scratch and 1 back print line.

@buckna, agreed all Scott’s fault here. Too much influence. 
Prices going up is a good thing there should never be any complaints. Overpay now but later you get to laugh when people pay double or triple what you originally did. Even if it goes down if you really like the card who cares you know it was hard to find
One more thing to add. I’m not sure exact cost per pack of 1st edition Neo Genesis. Maybe let’s say $250 a pack. You think you can pull a 9 from 8 packs which equals 2k? I doubt it but maybe. I’m sure it would truly take much more packs. And that’s also assuming you get truly unweighted packs and not all lights. Plus grading cost and waiting period. All this needs to be taken into consideration
