Good luck!
Where do you buy from?

Are you’re selling classes on how to buy bulk, grade, then sell mystery junk slab packs lmao

Well like at least 400k of it will go to grading fees, cost basis on the cards, insurance, accountant fees, eBay fees and shipping costs but could still be good business if the inventory can move quickly out the door. If it sits then the house of cards doesn’t look good

@tokyopokemon i don’t think it’s fair to say that the hate is real on this forum. You need like 33% more chill in how you go about posting lol.

Genuinely curious on what your value your time at here.

From this post you posted the spread of some ultra modern cards you dabble with, in particular SGC:

Card #1 has the highest margin at $15 raw to $45 graded gem mint / pristine.

SGC’s grading cost is $9/card, so your initial cost basis is $24. Ebay will take around 10% of the final sale price in fees, that’s another $4.50. Additionally I assume you’re shipping slabs for around $4/ea to end customers. In total you’re spending $32.50 to make $45, so you profit $12.50/card.

You mentioned you spend 2-4 hours per day on this and take a few weeks off each month as well. Have you broken down your hourly rate?

Your numbers are WAY off.
But if you think that is my margin, Its fine with me. Just shows the difference people buy, sell and submit cards at.

Thanks for the knowledge.

Those were numbers you provided.

Since you didn’t answer my question and instead danced around the topic, that tells me all I need to know about how much your hourly rate actually is.

As you said, this is not even your main source of income so it’s not like you have any sensitivity around sharing numbers, which you’ve already done in other posts.

Vibes in this thread are wild. Let’s all just check in next year rather than trying to dispute something 6 days in lol

I have a 9-5. For me, Pokémon is for fun, not profit. It has no monetary goals attached to it. I hope you have fun with your Pokémon cards too.

Now i know you never did large numbers buying ,selling or submitting . When you have leverage on vendors. The prices are very different.

Dont need to check here. Your the one losing knowledge.

Not everybody asking questions is hating you (or anybody for that matter). This forum is probably one of the least toxic places on the internet, 99% of the people are here to chat and discuss with like-minded people. But, everybody likes a discussion based on hard evidence and therefore asks questions. And it certainly does not help if you are implying that everybody is just hating you.

Nevertheless, good luck with your sales.

If you check the welcome thread of this forum you see that new members are always a joy to see here, especially if they express their excitement over pokemon from the beginning. But it’s not rocket science to understand that if one concentrates on conspiracy theories, bold statements without any will to give info to support it, hate accusations and abrupt answers to questions and comments people start to be on their toes, especially when it feels like you’ve decided your opinions over all this and are not very open to other opinions. Would be really nice to see more of your excitement over pokemon but for me this thread just seems like a place to boost your business ego
