Ive worked on a total of 3 so far. Opening up and servicing old CRT TVs is fairly dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing. However, most of the time the repair is fairly easy if you know how to solder. Usually just involves replacing damaged/dead capacitors or messing with the magnetic strips/rings to adjust convergence.
The biggest downside to them is the fact that any moderate sized CRT TV weighs almost 200 pouunds and is an almost near death experience to move by yourself lol.
