RESEARCH HELP NEEDED on Russian Pikachu EX XY174 for PSA

As the title states, I am needing help collecting documents and other materials to send to PSA’s research team for Russian Pikachu XY174.

They have all information I could gather here, including what @Quuador has posted, However, that is insufficient for them. I have exhausted all known resources, including the Wayback Machine (though I’m not sure if someone else would have better luck).

I currently have two Russian Pikachu EX XY174 tin promos at PSA that they are refusing to grade. I have gone back and forth with them for two weeks now and today they let me know they need more resources/documentation before they will grade them.

Any advice? Does someone here happen to have any info?

Thank you for anything anyone is able to help with!

I find it rather annoying that a grading company puts the burden on the submitter to provide this information for a clearly authentic and released card.

But to answer your question, request to have Bulbapedia updated for that specific artwork to include the Russian promo in the release information. Then send the Bulbapedia link to PSA.
Say something like "this card was also released in Russian in the super cool tin on Dec 22, 2015 or whatever it needs to say.

I got the Eevee Jungle stamp error added to both PSA and CGC with just the bulbapedia list of WOTC errors or something like that. 1 link was all it took

I think you can make an account and make/request the edit. I did it once, I don’t recall if someone approved it or the change just happened

Just update the text on bulbapedia to say this Pikachu released in Russian in this way. Then send the bulbapedia link to PSA. That will set them straight

I am still putting the burden on PSA to do their job that they charge even more for now. The picture of the tin should be plenty. The card in hand and seeing it is authentic is plenty. I wouldn’t draw parallels to the playtest stuff. This is a real card we are talking about, not practice

I didnt change bulbapedia for the Eevee error, that was already there. I said all it takes is one link to get PSA to acknowledge it. Dont quote me on things I didnt say

The only thing I ever changed on bulbapedia was updating a Japanese set to remove unlimited, since it was only printed in 1st edition (Spiral Force, btw).

All good, I can see how the posts can read the way you thought it did. To be clear, I am not saying to post fake information. The Pikachu promo was released in that tin. So adding that blurb isn’t false. I think PSA used to grade Russian cards a few years ago without questions like this.

I never understood that either, but that’s just the way PSA operates. :person_shrugging:

If you need additional links, feel free to link to the Russian section of my Pikachu collection. :person_shrugging: To quote the relevant part:

PSA likely doesn’t care too much about E4 links, but a lot of data is more accurate here than Bulbapedia. :joy:

In addition, here is a Russian webshop with the tin:

Also, maybe @bouncepaw has a good source. (Sorry to tag you after you’ve been offline for 9+ years, but I remember you’ve helped me with the Russian set release dates back in 2021 and you’ve also been the Russian TCG expert in 2014-2017 here on the forum. )

Покеру is unfortunately the only Russian Pokémon wiki I know of, but it’s not up-to-date at all, and missing pages for most sets (as well as the XY promos, including this Pikachu).

Greetz,

I even sent PSA the links to that cardplace tin! I wonder if making a Bulbapedia account and requesting data to be updated for the promo is really the way to go. But this is what PSA sent me:

”I can understand wanting to get your items authenticated and graded, and I’m sorry that the card might be N9’d or not processed. Unfortunately, we’re unable to process these cards due to not having the current spec information on them. This was reviewed by our researchers and confirmed by a senior research representative.

If you have reliable, credible web resources with official checklists or scanned documents from books that you’d like us to review, I can take a look and see if we can send them to our Research team for additional review. Sadly, we are unable to view the ones that you shared earlier.

In the meantime, if you have any other questions, please let us know.”

Here is the announcement in the official Pokémon VK group of the release of BREAKthrough and the relevant tins, including their release date. Additionally, here is a post from the Russian Nintendo store one day later, confirming release date and price for the tin.

These should push it across the line. I got them to start grading Breakthrough using similar!
