Red Fire Green Leaf Set question + WTB Red Leaf Charizard

Hi guys, so first of all I’m looking to buy a PSA 10 Red Leaf Charizard. It looks like it’s going at around $600 right now. So here’s the question- Why is a card from this set that grades really favorably (142 PSA10s, 189 PSA9s) selling for higher than a card that is much tougher to grade (such as Ex Crystal Guardians 51 PSA10s, 246 PSA9s, or Stormfront only 28 PSA10’s, 152 PSA9s). I want the Red Leaf regardless but I’m trying to figure out how and why the market has this Red Leaf with a much larger population and a much easier grade priced higher. Was it a smaller print run? Is it just aesthetics? Thanks for the help and let me know if you have one for sale.

Red Leaf Charzard? I think you are talking about the Charizard ex from Fire Red Leaf Green?

I think the price difference comes from a few factors - it’s an ex card, so it’s harder to pull than the holo card from Crystal Guardians for example. It already puts more value into it and people would obviously grade it more. It’s not always about the card population. Ex cards overall are very liked cards plus this Charizard has an attack that does 200 damage and I think it was the first card ever to have that so it could play a part into it as well (I personally used to think that was so cool back in the day). And the art is cool. So there are many reasons to like this card and reasons that also put value into it. It has always been one of the most expensive ex cards from that era overall.

It came from a more desirable set. It’s like the top card before Gold Stars came about. Also one of four Ultra Rare (Shining, Crystal, ex, Gold Star) Charizards from the Golden Era (up to ex Power Keepers). It was the dream card for many back then, me included

This new price point is pretty recent. It seems like it is not particularly a hard grade either as you said. I have a hard time even thinking about buying this card at that price. But it does seem to have a charizard on it…

There is a 5th Ultra/Secret Rare Charizard as well - the one from EX Dragon (and I am not sure if its possible to count the US Nationals Charizard as one, but in terms of quantity that exists its probably lower than any of the other EX Series era Charizards)
