There are plenty of stunning hand drawn/painted sports cards that carry premiums.
Most of the truly valuable tacky photoshop cards are rookie cards of notable players.
Patch/Bat/Uniform cards are cool regardless of player though.
most of them are cut up crap actually maybe thats what the pokeschemers learned from 
Topps Allen & Ginter tries a little bit. I’m pissed they got rid of Gypsy Queen baseball, that was my favorite set. Panini Diamond Kings but they stopped it too I believe. Sometimes a set will have some artist sketch cards of a player that usually look cool but for the most part people don’t want that.
It’s wild the amount of money these rookie cards of athletes that haven’t even played a game in their sport yet at a pro level and they are going for so much more money that Hall of Fame or proven athletes. I get the speculation of finding that one player before everyone else does but dang.
Why do they not want that?

The speculation and gambling aspect of cards is going to devastate the average investor bro in the future

People have been playing the speculation game in sports since the dawn of sports cards.
