What’s the rarer box after 1st Ed base? Skyridge or deoxys? I only ask because someone on instagram kept telling me deoxys is incredibly rare because Pokémon was at a low. But there are no official print numbers right?

I dont think there are offical numbers but ive always thought of the year 2005 as the low point in print runs for english pokemon boxes. Deoxys emerald and unseen are probably comparable to some degree. They seem to pop up the least. Maybe holon phantoms should be in there too. But its all a guess based on what ive seen pop up for sale

Going purely based on sales volume, this is definitely correct. 2003-2004 EX boxes (with the except of Dragon and TRR) pop up pretty often. And then things go off a cliff in 2005 in terms of box rarity. Deoxys, Emerald, UF, and DS pop up very infrequently. The 2006 sets are relatively difficult to find, too.
The more difficult comparison is to Skyridge/Aquapolis/Expedition. I don’t think it’s 100% clear which of those three boxes is the rarest among them (although based on sales volume, Aquapolis would be my bet), or if they are rarer or less rare than EX boxes. My general sense is that mid-EX boxes are rarer than e-Series boxes, and that early-EX boxes (aside from Dragon and TRR) have similar rarity as e-Series boxes. But this is just my impression and isn’t based on anything concrete.

Oh yeah i forgot delta species. Wotc eseries is a mystery. Hard to know whats out there really
