Question about Old and New Cards

I recently opened some Evolving Skies boosters, and noticed on the backs of the cards the blue outline of the “Pokemon” logo is of a hue just a shade lighter than that from older cards (i.e. WOTC era cards). I’ve also noticed the Evolving Skies cards seem less thick than the WOTC ones.

I haven’t purchased new cards in a while, but just wanted to check if newer cards do differ a little from their older WOTC counterparts. I put in a code from one of code cards for PTCG Online and it worked, so I’m pretty sure I didn’t get fake cards - but just making sure.

Not fake just different cardstock

Pictures would help. Although color differences are overall pretty normal, even within a set. And this applies to the front of cards; the back of cards; as well as the booster packs. So a difference in color between the back of a WotC era card and a modern Evolving Skies card is pretty normal, especially since their releases are 23+ years apart and printed in different printing facilities, with different cardstock, and different ink.

Imo newer card quality and layout feels cheap, as mentioned before, just different cardstock

THIS. I really do think the newer cards feel cheaper.
