QotD: Why use a slab protector?

Card needs to be extra protected when it changes hands every 3 weeks.

I’ve actually had multiple comments similar to this. I only sell my slabs in pristine condition

apparently many people wreck their slabs so I dont blame them for using protection. PSA slabs get muddy, scratch easily, and crack. you can use slab sleeves, but they can be a bit cloudy. If your gona protect your favorite cards might as well do it with style

This is definitely throwing an unneeded wrench into things. People don’t want things that are accessible. Many collectible industries tanked bc of overproduction. @gradedguard became cool tbh bc im not interested in putting a 20$ guard on my 3000$ slab. I want to flex my rare card with a rare guard. Everyone can cry all they want about not having access to it but it’s the same in Pokemon. No one feels bad for you bc you can’t buy destined rivals booster box at 300$ that’s just the way it is. Scarcity drives demand. @gradedguard needs to toe that line.

this is a real instagram comment

There are a lot of new trends in the way people display cards now

people pay a lot of money for their collections and often they just lay pilled on top of one another.

Im of the opinion, if there is a way to maximize your enjoyment of the slabs, all the more power to you

That’s actually pretty cool.

Because the card arrived in one and i haven’t had enough balls for trying to remove it yet without breaking something
