Thanks for choosing mine

I’d have to say Skyridge. There’s something in it for everyone.

VS Series for me, has everything: amazing art, great set identity, every trainer is drawn by one artist which makes it very distinctive.

Cosmic Eclipse has so much variety: tag teams, secret rares, rainbow and gold cards. I pulled some great cards from that set.

Crown Zenith due to the loads of beautiful artworks in the Galarian Gallery.

Might be unpopular but one of my favorites is dragons exalted (I specifically like the silcoon in the set, I know it’s weird it’s just something I like)

LC. A hit in every pack with the most unique Holo foil in the TCG (and I don’t think it’s close IMHO) with the reverse foils. It’s also the first reverses in the TCG I believe and it’s an English exclusive

I’m biased though as it’s the main thing I collect rofl

Best mini/subset:

English Southern Islands

Postcards of each scene, 6 postcards total

Premium glossy binder with the front and back having 1 of the 2 islands on it. Inside of the binder showing each scene as shown in the postcards and location of each scene on each island

2 amazing artists each drawing the art for 9 cards each.

Pokemon cosmos holo reverse foiling

Art is cropped to the card frame better than the Japanese set.

Even the cardboard slipcase it came in was nice to store it in.

Easily the most complete, all in one subset.

Theme, cohesiveness, good art (subjective I know). Every box is checked off.

Best Full Size Set(s): Black Bolt and White Flare JP

I count these as one set, personally.

I hate gen 5. Worst gen imo with only 17 or 18 pokmeon that I like (or better (really like, love etc.)) out of the 156 mons in it.

Yet we got an entire Pokedex for this gen in ARs and SARs

Each drawn by a different artist, and I like (or better) around half of them. I really like that they flexed so many of the artists on their roster.

Makes each Pokemon stand out even though some are part of evo lines and the same reigon/dex overall.

To one shot an entire Pokedex with actual illustrated art is nothing short of amazing.

There is something for literary everyone in this set art wise.

The BWRs and normal card arts are just fun extras in my book.

Normal cards had each evo line drawn by the same artist for more cohesiveness for those who prefer that.

All of the Unova regions offerings in one go, neatly wrapped up. I have flipped through my binder enjoying the AR/SAR dex (still short 7 SARs) so many times.

I will eagerly wait for when they do this all AR/SAR dex set for Gen 3 so Hoenn may take its rightful place as the best set of all time.

Battle Styles

But actually isn’t it always the next set that’s the best of all time?

Same here waiting for gen 3 full AR set, sv11 was the best set to collect ever.

But I’d still rank Vstar Universe above

I’ll add a vote for Cosmic Eclipse. The set really felt like a farewell to the Sun & Moon block and it brings so much new things to the table with the Tag Team Supporter cards and the first iteration of the Trainer Gallery. Not even mentioning the stellar alternate art cards that came from the set. It was also a very influential set gameplay wise as it introduced format-defining cards such as Tag Call, Draw Energy, and ADP (for better or for worse). I opened its Japanese counterpart Dream League when it released so I look back on it very fondly. Such a fun set to collect and open!

+1 for Crown Zenith

Interesting question to consider. Honestly I loved Crown Zenith. From the experience of the set being printed heavily to exceed demand so I could rip tons of packs for giga cheap to the point that I pretty much opened the entire Galarian Gallery. Which is why its so good. Its a 70 card subset where every card is a full art version? And ALL of them are good. The weakest art would be in the top 5 in any other set. The pokemon curated for the subset are just tons of fan favorites. Also for English, its the final yellow border set, which I will keep harping on. Going out on a high note for English.

That said, there are so many other sets I really like. I won’t consider any scarlet/violet set yet because I feel like we’ve yet to resolve things to satisfaction for the experience of the era. To me the availability/opening experience and all that counts towards how I feel. I think there are tons of great sets across all eras.

Ex Dragon for me.

The art from the cards themselves to the booster packs and booster box is chefs kiss :pinched_fingers:t3:

also remember seeing a lot of posters and magazine ads for this set particularly and they all looked great.

I wish I could be like some other wise sea mammal I know of on here to have the pleasure of owning such a beautiful piece of history :raising_hands::clap:
