Correct me if I am wrong, but Metapod didn’t get a full art in 151. Probably not a fan favorite, but it would be really cool to see a full art of that, and any others from the original 151 that didn’t get a full art. It would be neat to see several Metapods on one card art, because they always seem to orient to one side (like a Flounder). Multiple versions on a card might give one that isn’t side on. I’m curious what that interpretation would be.
This is the SwSh shiny sprite, it’s looking at us from this POV. The “horn” that people mistake for a nose is actually on its back, haha! I’m sure you know but I checked and even though it has a few artworks featuring this front facing view, some people don’t know. Either way, it would be awesome to see a cluster of them together for sure. One day!
Swampert in some sort of “Basic Pokémon” form. Radiant, Shining, something. We haven’t seen it since Fusion Strike and I think it’s well deserving of another card. You can beat Ruby or Sapphire with pretty much just a Marshtomp, haha. A substitute would be an XY-style “basic” EX since we’re revisiting Mega evolutions again (Mega Swampert please).
We need #JusticeForKyogre. In Japanese, Kyogre has not received an ultra rare card in a set since 2015. There has been a Kyogre V (Gym Promo) and a Kyogre ex (Generations Deck) that have made their way to English sets, but these have not received a full art or special art print.
Kyogre is one of two box legendaries (if you exclude forms/fusions) that have never received a modern special art or art/illustration rare, with Xerneas being the other one.
I have been holding out hope for a Hoenn themed set given their focus in the ZA DLC, but I am not sure if there is time for that anymore if Gen 10 releases later this year.
Chingling finally got a card last year so I’d probably go with Stakataka. I believe it’s been almost five years since the last time any Ultra Beast got a card in English so I’d like to see some more love given there, even if it’s just an uncommon or something.
I would add Primal Groudon and hope it isn’t illustrated by 5ban graphics again. I feel like someone could draw a pretty badass looking Primal Groudon roaring into the skies like its godzilla with volcanos erupting in the background.
Despite his relative popularity and rock solid staying power in the competitive scene since his debut in gold/silver version, my man Tyranocif could use another showing in another set. He gets some showing, but not much to razzle dazzle.
