QotD: Should pokemon games included seasonal based rarities?

QotD: Should pokemon games included seasonal based rarities?

Helpful considerations: Can only catch some pokemon in certain seasons, like bug pokemon wont show up in winter, similar to the day/night differences.

I’ve always appreciated these kind of seasonal, or even weekly/daily quirks. They would definitely work nicely with games like Pokemon go.

As for the main games I’d say yes too, but it’s important to balance things so they dont become frustrating or boring for the players: so, make Pokemon available via trading, there should be an abundance of content or Pokemon to choose regardless of the season, and most of the game should play normally.

But I’d also consider a shorter season turnover (for example 1.5 months) to keep things fresh.

It would make sense in the realm and allows the player to get more engrossed in the game, keeping areas fresh giving players reason to revisit areas they would otherwise brush off as the season shifts from one to another. Don’t see why not.
