I’ve never went to a cardshow tbh … those types of events are unusual in Peru …

I don’t think I’ll go to a cardshow in a closer future, but if I could … probably I’ll look for specific raw cards …

Would honestly probably look for medium priced/commons that I need. From my experience, the high end stuff gets marked up a lot and just isn’t worth it. But also just cards with dumb artworks that I can pick up to troll friends

Went to a small one recently, half the tables had Insta360 cams setup. It is a kind of an anti-theft measure and for tracking sales but feels super awkward.

I went to one recently and it was exactly this scenario. I was so turned off the by having cameras shoved in my face I left without even seeing what else was available. So annoying and unfortunate.

To answer the prompt, I mostly like looking for binder copies of cards from older sets (late WOTC/early EX eras), but I’ll occasionally look for other merch if I find it interesting.

I’ve been feeling very uncomfortable at card shows lately.

The crowding around binders, prices that are often way over the top, and a ton of low-quality stuff
I’m really just there to catch up with people.

These days, the first thing I look for at a card show is the table of fellow collectors and the drink stand.

Then I grab a round of beers and we just have a good timE

The vendors I speak to also seem to dislike doing card shows, the pressure to come up with inventory and sell well

To make new friends.
Seriously.
…My current ones don’t get my obsession!

What's a scene that makes you laugh no matter how many times you've seen it? : r/familyguy

I’m in small world America no streaming at the shows I go to. I like to look for binder cards. Either 4’11 mons I have not seen or enjoy or cards for my artist binders. I do have a modern AR binder. I loved scooping a bunch for a few bucks . That’s getting a bit harder these days, still on the radar. Trading for these type of cards is also fun.

Difficult for me to answer. Initially just good deals on cards I like, but once Im there the impulsive plushie demon takes over.

Tbh my favorite thing to do at card shows is looking through bulk and searching for hidden gems. Finding random crimps/miscuts/errors of low value cards is a top tier experience and a nice change of pace from the flashier side of card shows.

Any graded 10’s of my species that I don’t already have, good vintage JP cards that could be worth grading (to then sell and pay for more species specific 10’s :joy:) cards for my artist binder collections, and any random periphera that catches my eye.

Skip the show and just go to meet ups before and after :joy:

Sort of joking sort of serious. They’re a fun way to kill the day but unless you’re really lucky you’re probably not going to find good deals on anything at the actual show. Everything is usually wayyyy over priced and in most cases it’s the same crap over and over. Overpriced modern and lower-grade (also overpriced) vintage.

Go and have fun looking around, get your steps in, meet some people from online but save your money and buy it online.

I’d look for cards I will never own or probably never see in my lifetime, like Espeon or Umbreon PLAY gold stars. Just to get to hold it for a minute

I used to go to shows thinking I would just browse, meet people, and try to find unique cards I don’t typically see. I quickly realized they’re too hectic for my liking so now I just look for the more expensive cards I’m after that I want to see in person before purchasing.
