Keep them all, theyll never be worth anything but theres so many variations that it gives a good reference to compare against. If you dont want them, just send them to me. No sense in destroying history because vintage fakes are just as much part of the 99-00 craze as the real cards.

Modern fakes… give them to small children

I have a little deck box where I put them as they are useful for comparing with real cards. Some of the Japanese Neo Genesis fakes (same source as the infamous PokeRev box break video) are pretty well made.

I like the really goofy ones. They always made me laugh. Just insane stats, evolving from the wrong pokemon. Weird translations. I cherish their audacity.

I tend to keep them as a reference. Some are moderately interesting (like cards that shouldn’t be holo but gained a weird foil treatment, or some kitsch attempt with strange names/art).
The majority of Pokemon fakes are poorly made though, so they aren’t something I would put in a binder.

I kept a two from back when I was a kid but the rest I destroy. I know some people like to give the fakes they find out to kids for free but I don’t want them to end up in other’s collections by accident. They just cause confusion down the line.

My older brother and I were keen enough as kids to be able to spot fake cards since the beginning of the hobby, back then I would toss them.

Haven’t ran into any as an adult, other than some fakes here and there in lots I have bought. Those have all been tossed as well. Hoping to find some funny ones or ones with cool fake holo patterns to keep but that has not happened yet.

As for fanmade original art cards and high quality proxies (been buying just Pocket ones so far) I do enjoy getting those so I get to see and hold art I like in person.

Have you found any places for the Pocket proxies that you’re especially happy with? I bought two from a seller off eBay and I was really disappointed with the resolution of the art and overall quality of the cards.

I hope someone answers. So many good looking cards that proxies could make amazing.

Welcome to the forum!

Creative Card Holo has been the best one. They have printers loke the one TPCi uses to print English cards. They are pricy at $20 per but I wait until they have sales that make ‘em come out to $10 a pop.

Picked up these two since they are the 2 best Giratina arts in the entire TCG IMO and they are trapped in the Pocket Dimension.

First pic without flash, 2nd and 3rd with to show texture.

Rsolution and color quality/saruration are amazing too.

Back looks like this and is also textured

Those look spectacular! I wonder if they only do a limited run of each card as their Pocket selection is looking pretty thin right now :sob:

I gave them a follow on Instagram to keep an eye out for any reprints they might have in the future.

Edit: I see now that their Etsy storefront has a better selection than their standalone website.

they brought back a lot of stuff for Black Friday which is when I got the Tinas, but it has been pretty thin lately, it was thin before BF as well

I’d keep obvious ones like this iconic ‘sableye’

If it’s a good one and I want to keep it for some reason, I mark it as a proxy so it doesn’t end up in the wrong hands in the future.

I used to keep them for reference but thats not really needed anymore. Ended up giving 2 etbs worth of those old EX era fakes to my kids but they made a mess. Dont remember if I tossed them but they are gone. Now ive just been building them up to give away to people that want them.

They’re running a sale right now that goes up to 50% off if you get 6 or more. There were three that I really wanted (especially the Mega Charizard Y EX), so I added another three that I also liked since they were pretty much free.
