Shoutout to the first forum I joined as a semi-adult my senior year of high school. Lot of knowledgable helpful people on cointalk.

The only other forum I actually didn’t lurk in. I’m not active anymore though, I’m not into tarantula keeping as much as I used to be.

Early on in my collecting journey I had 7 surprise bunnies from a pet rabbit. This forum helped me through that process: https://www.rabbitsonline.net/

No this isn’t some elaborate pfm joke, I legitimately had 7 baby bunnies and had no clue how to raise them! :rabbit:

Corvette forum was awesome for me for years.
Tons of knowledge and no drama. Granted it was probably 90% actual boomers

I’ve been on helpful forums, chiefest of which must undoubtedly be Drummerworld by virtue of a single man, Andy Crosby, co-owner of the greatest drum company to ever exist, Guru drums. I essentially got an education from him. One of the finest men ever put on this earth.

Talkbass is another one. A gentleman named Jason Desalvo who used to be a partner at Fodera Guitars would host these endlessly long Q&A threads, brimming with valuable information. Then there was the guy behind Kalium Strings, another fountain of knowledge. And there was just a lot of great guys who knew what the fuck they were talking about over there.

Not sure if anyone here is also a cruise addict but RoyalCaribbeanBlog is such a cool place, while they dont have an @smpratte they have someone named Matt Hochberg that does a similar job, and does it pretty well.

Before I collected Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards again, I was collecting twisty puzzles and was active on the TwistyPuzzles forum.

Definitely a helpful forum, to both new collectors who got questions; discussing solves of hard newly released puzzles (or made available for 3D printing); mods of existing puzzles into new puzzles; etc.

It also has a build-in ‘online museum’ of all existing Twisty Puzzles (some might be missing, but it tries to include all existing ones - mostly run by a single guy that’s active on the forum). Some of my own mods even made it to the museum, since I was the first to thought of these: inventor: Kevin Cruijssen.

Here is my collection thread, in case anyone is curious. All these puzzles are still in their moving boxes since I started living on my own… On the plus-side, I now use the cabinets my TP collection was in for my non-TCG Seviper collection.

deskthority.net used to be an incredibly knowledgeable and friendly community in the vintage mechanical keyboard world.

Although it’s now a shadow of its former self, its information-packed wiki is still a great resource for anyone interested in keyboards.

Various planted aquarium and cichlid forums. Was and still am interested in eventually having several planted tanks and a cichlid setup in an eventual basement. Lol. No space in the current house situation, despite having a detached garage that’s been converted into an office and card room. I’ve had 10 or so tanks in different sizes over the years and the aquascaping approach of someone like Takashi Amano is still what I’m most into. Oh, and dwarf shrimp are the funniest creatures. They just float around constantly grazing and breed like rabbits.
