PWCC has been acquired by sports market company Fanatics

I wish. I can’t even get a few percent off. Everytime I contact them it goes like this.

Thank you loyal customer of 4 years. I would love to not solve your problem. I pushed pretty hard to get on the top rated seller list. But they make it impossible.

They started looking up the random cheap $2-$5 untracked orders from months ago. Mentioned cancelled sales which come from non paying buyers.

Which strange enough the day after someone accepted a offer on a $200 card and decided they wanted to cancel later that night. I happen to check their listings and they were selling the exact same card for the exact same price. Which I took as trying to sabotage my sale. Then I also noticed they were a top rated seller and that was their only listing.

I pay eBay thousands in fees yet never get anything actually solved in my favor over the years. At one point their eBay authentication program lost a $500 card for a month. During that same time period buyer opened a item not received case from a card that was out for delivery the following day. Which was only late due to them not using a FIFO system for first in first out orders.

Unfortunately it is the best place to sell but I wish I could pay less fees or sell some place better. And yes I sell some myself on Instagram. But it doesn’t matter. Buyers tend to take advantage of those fees. They like to automatically discount themselves 15 percent off, free shipping (Like the post office actually ships things out of the kindness of their heart) and skip the taxes. O and to top it off they like to message about the offer on ebay without even looking for you on Instagram first risking the eBay account.

Lol PWCC just cancelled my fulfillment request. I wanted to pull everything from my vault (for reasons other than panic, but also panic)

if you don’t mind me asking, how many cards did you try to pull out?

10 out of the 11 I had, mostly junk slabs but a few decent ones. ~$3400 insured value

Keep us informed as to why they canceled it. It doesn’t make sense, I’d be pissed. They better have a good reason. Sorry this happened man.

Definitely shows you where the market is since most of those loans were at 40-50% LTV

Don’t know why they thought that was a good idea in the first place.

As far as selling off of ebay goes. I usually offer about 7.5% off of ebay prices. If the buyer makes a stink out of it and wants 15% off of ebay, I tell them to take it or leave it. Why should the buyer exclusively benefit and the seller gets nothing?

Well besides going from a 30 day dispute window (ebay) to a 180 dispute window (paypal) of course lol.

I have seen a lot of speculation regarding this topic on youtube and twitter, but no real evidence.

Not saying it isn’t true, but my (almost monthly) cash advances have been getting approved uninterruptedly by PWCC. It would stand to reason that if they were going under, cash advances would be suspended until their balance sheet stabilized.

Additionally, loans are paid out at a cap of 40% of the collectible’s market value, and subject to review by PWCC staff, so if you try to get a loan on a $1 million card, you may be able to get a loan of up to $400k, but that is not guaranteed.

I don’t follow sports much, but have a hard time believing enough high-end cards crashed over 60% this year and their owners simply abandoned the card leaving PWCC holding the bag. Especially considering that PWCC is able to liquidate the underlying asset when loans go unpaid.

So, to wrap up my thought process here, until I see concrete evidence of a potential default by PWCC, I’ll cautiously subscribe to the notion that this sale has been in the making long before any of the social media speculation/panic started.

Regarding Fanatics acquisition I would just say that a rapprochement between PWCC’s new owners and ebay would definitely be advantageous to both sellers and collectors worldwide as it would give more exposure to PWCC listed items, and drive more sales on ebay as their streamlined Global Shipping Program would fill the gap on the arbitrage that currently exists between EU/US prices.

100%. People just want to see things fail more than want to know what’s actually happening. If the loans were so outstanding pwcc was apparently going under, they wouldn’t have continued cash advances. Their loans were 40-50% market value.

Also this was one buyout offer from only one company. There were multiple offers going back into last year. None of this screams a company underwater.

Even if PWCC was going bankrupt (which I doubt), why does it matter now? They’ve been acquired and will have access to plenty of capital to continue on. Everyone wants a dramatic story, but it only adds to unnecessary fear.

Clearly they have staffing problems that need to be resolved (shipping/customer service) and they need to stop giving loans out as if the collateral was as stable as precious metals, but otherwise the platform is running fine.

If they allowed that loan money to be withdrawn from their platform… that’d be insane…

If PWCC loans could only be used on PWCC, then that’d be insane.

Most of the loans they gave out were already backed by 2.5 times the amount in collateral. Then the rate of 12% wasn’t anything amazing at a time when interest rates were super low. There may have even been an origination fee like they have now on loans. A stipulation on how the loan could only be used on PWCC would be crazy.

Hoping that they don’t cancel mine too.

I don’t want to panic or even contact them about the cards I’m pulling out. I just don’t like the idea that possibly someday my cards will be held hostage. I have two fulfillment requests, one is for a card I’m a little bitter about from using their grade to vault service. Even if they didn’t upcharge me and it was a decent grade, it took much longer than advertised with no help from customer service.

Someone shill bought one of my cards on the fixed market over two weeks ago and didn’t pay and it’s still not back in my vault so I can’t sell it or ship it. Their customer service is definitely down to one person for like 100,000 requests. That’s more annoying than anything else

Why are so many of you actually buying fanatic branded stuff from them to begin with? Fanatic is meant to be used exclusively to buy NFL licensed merchandise with their regular coupon codes.
