My parents recently dropped off some of my binders that were in my old room at their place. I looked in the back of one of them, and on the last page, found my old Pukemon cards!! I remember being home one day after school, and my dad came in with an issue of Mad Magazine. I was obsessed with Pokemon, and HATED the cover about how they were going to kill Pikachu. He thought it was hilarious, and my mom didn’t approve of any of it. There was an insert, making up these individual Pukemon cards, and I just loved them! He let me have the sheet and I separated and put them all straight into my binder. I even double-sleeved some of them! I searched here on E4 to see if anyone had ever posted them before, and only came across the Blastnoise. So, I figured you guys may enjoy seeing the rest of them if you haven’t already. They are gloriously disturbing. Psychoduck is easily my favorite. [Image Heavy]
@kromaticlanturn, wow this brought back memories. I never had these but I did have Mad Yugioh cards that were basically the same exact thing. They must have really liked Jar Jar Binks because there was a “Morphing Jar Jar” card (a play on the card Morphing Jar if you’re unfamiliar with Yugioh) which was just him poking his head out of a jar. I remember cutting the cards out and sticking in them in my little binder because I thought they were so funny. Psychoduck is great but the fact that Mr. Ma’ams’ Eau d’ Smelly attack doesn’t work on Snorlax because it has a deviated septum is hilarious
They were a weird but cool alternative to regular Pokemon cards. Kinda like the 70’s spoof food stickers. In my collection, I’ve still got a sealed box of Pukemon cards.
