I just made it up. But I did have a meaningful point. These strategies have a lot of implicit assumptions on how PSA grades cards that are just not publicly known. There’s no data to suggest any of them really work and I bet some of the graders can see through the strategies too (they probably get a kick out of it). In the end, everyone seems to have their own little hacks or strategies, myself included, but it’s unclear if any of them even have a meaningful effect. Basically the equivalent of throwing in a rabbit’s foot with your submission

I agree with your point, we really don’t know how it works exactly unless we can get information directly from a PSA grader.

I personally would assume that they *probably* grade the cards in the same order you submit them just because it seems like it would be easier for them to keep things organized that way, but who the heck knows.

Obviously there’s a lot of voodoo magic with all these strategies.

I wonder if they would keep the money or if they would cause a scene like you bribed them. It would be funny as long as not illegal haha who knows but it’s peaked my curiosity even tho I know it’s wrong and a joke haha

PSA graders(at least for bulk) get paid like around minimum wage. They’re just gonna be like Mcdonalds workers and get you what you ordered without giving much of a shit about how it’s done because why would they

I’m sure after some time they pick up on submitter trends but I doubt they care enough to do anything like shuffle the order of the cards or something to reduce the effectiveness of gaming the submission

PSA graders tend to roll a dice when grading cards, I recommend sending them loaded dice with your order.

If not, than a time machine to send in your cards before 420xx blaze it certs numbers. Since we know those certs get graded more harshly.

I agree with your last point

I’m not saying an employee will sit there and try to minimize their psychological biases in order to maximize the quality of their service. What I’m saying is that there are a lot of unknowns so there’s little evidence to think any of these strategies work.

Let’s say a minimum wage grader catches on that you’re trying to game the system/outsmart them. How might some minimum wage employees react in this situation? Maybe now you’ve rubbed them the wrong way and they are gonna round down when they get to your charizord

Jokes on most of you, they actually start from the last card in the submission and work their way to the first

Making sure to get a nice greasy thumbprint on each of the holos as they go to the back

A couple recommendations…

1. Do not submit too many of the same card. I think it can put a grader into an autopilot, plus if they are being harsh then all th ecards will grade lower than you would expect.

2. Place different languages accordingly with Japanese in the back and english in front.

I went incredibly against the grain of #1 (and have typically followed it) and submitted 18 base set Charizards in my last submission. Somewhat random, with not necessarily the best one last. We’ll see how that goes, haha!
