Being a relatively new collector my options are limited… I’d go with a mixture of the Classic Collection from Celebrations and a handful of ultra rares from Evolving Skies.
Honestly, the best thing to do would be open a few booster boxes of Brilliant Stars and then send in the best hits. Sending in any of my vintage cards is a losing game in the long run.
This is a trick question! Regardless of what you send, it’ll be worth less once its graded. I wasn’t in the mood for logic puzzle but this one was fun!
But… if I did send anything, it would be 1997 carddass or topsun cards. They look so good graded and I would love… oh wait they don’t grade those for some reason but they will grade cards that are stolen from the factory or cards that were never supposed to exist in the first place.
I never accuse people of anything but I’m just curious as to why you specified CGC and and the dollar amount. I don’t want to be part of a focus group for CCG or CGC but this kinda feels like that TBH.
Maybe send things that you are fine cracking and re-grading with PSA? Or just rough cards you want authenticated?
CGC is only good to pre-grade since they go out of their way to not give anything a 10 any more. If you are only sending them 10 cards, the odds are that over-all, CGC will be devaluing your 10-card collection with 9s and 9.5’s.
I don’t know if this was supposed to be serious but CGC are considerably harsher with their grading, but are very inconsistent around the 8 and 8.5 mark.
I like buying cheap cgc 9.5s and cracking them, it’s a shame as the blue slab is nice, pre grades are nice but damn them lasers don’t give up high scores like ever.
To answer original question, I’d send 10 lances Charizard which is a card I’m trying to get a 10 in, but is an absolutely appalling quality control card and I’d look for which of my best attempts got a 9.5 then crack it.
