PSA is the true winner of the boom

I remember paying $13-15/card like 2 years ago, now they got everyone wrapped around their finger  . Let the pokemon boom continue

Is there another thread for the forum reception to it?

I don’t grade. Not even sure what the last price increase is to $60/card.

But, it sounds good to me. If collectors and flippers can’t control themselves, then I can only rely on PSA continually raising their prices to stop the inflow of bulk creating more plastic trash.

Nobody needs to ‘preserve’ bulk cards. At $60, that even covers 99% of cards in modern sets, which is to stay, people need to stop sending them in. And if they continue, long may PSA price gouge the fuck out of them.

Im not trying to agree with what Im about to say, but with as many mystery slabs going out it caters to the “mystery” gambling addicts which a lot of people are here for as well. I dislike that portion of the hobby where those companies send people to buy junk for their own profit, but its insane what its come to all around, and its making an odd wave within the community that feeds a vicious cycle.

Is their plan to eventually have a cheaper grading option or are we stuck at 60$ for good?

They still don’t recognize many many card and pack variants, including ones with visible copyright date differences. I’ve tried reaching out many times and they don’t care.

Stop giving them money.

I’m sure if they could, they’d keep grading at $60, but they’ll open up cheaper grading tiers over time.

How cheap grading becomes will depend on demand.

Honestly TPC themselves rely on the mass consumer being math-illiterate. The odds have never been in your favour, but it continually gets worse. Yet gambling addicts continue to sustain them, breakers and now repackagers.
