PSA grading become more strict ??!!! Good thing !!?..

Maybe these professional graders are actually professional graders?

This got a tad messy lol

Listen, I’m sure submitting through certain people has nothing to do with it. I used Scott’s service and I had it go both ways with a few cards. I got great grades that I didn’t expect and not so great that I didn’t expect. It basically balanced out, so my overall belief is that cards are all graded fairly, but also that they are graded by humans, so there is no perfect grade or grader.

That’s the way it should be.

I had great results grading through Ludkins in the UK in my most recent submission. The actual grades beat almost all predicted grades so I was very pleased. So, based on my recent experience,PSA were quite generous.

I think everyone wants to vent a little or gets frustrated when receiving poor grades. I think it’s natural for people to feel that way.

The only way it would change is if there was individual explanations for every graded card below 10. But that would take so much time and effort. From a customer service type of view for psa.

Psa is still very consistent in general.

It is what it is.

I do hope someday PSA changes the case to a better one. Beckett has awesome cases. Looks and almost feels like glass. Stronger too.

Why are people always looking for something negative to say about PSA? I love PSA. Never have any problems. They do very well IMO.

Do you own any BGS cards to compare to? I’ve only seen you flex PSA cards.

I actually only have one. That’s a nidoking graded 8.5. I bought it just to see what it looks like. Paid like 50ish bucks for it few months back.

It’s really a matter of taste. I prefer the new PSA cases and they don’t have that distortion sleeve which is a bonus. A little narrower is preferable to me too cause I store so many. I don’t even like the sharp edges and corners. As far as stronger, I don’t see where that’s even necessary. Seems like overkill.

Bescides the BGS case, their system and grading standards suck. Not to mention the turnaround times.

Gary ,
I agree there grading sucks …

There’s a lot of casual and younger collectors out there that don’t know what a real gold star or 1st edition base set charizard looks like.

Some people also don’t care.

Some people just have a habit of spending money on useless things they like.

So, everyone that’s ever bought a PokĆ©mon card?

Pokemon cards aren’t a habit.

They’re a way of life.

Lol. Fuckin love these cards man. The Nostalgia is real brother.

Amen :pray:t2:

I dunno, might be on to something here with these Pokemon special returns. I sent the same quality cards as I always do, and my two returns from the special were awful. 13% rate for 10s. Hell I had 2/60 for my 2nd return, abysmal. Before that, my average is just around 65% per return. Even had one card come back ā€œrecoloredā€, even though I personally picked up 5 copies when they were given out at the event (and the other 4 graded just fine). Grades seemed to be all over the place, some getting 9s and some getting 8s, without really any obvious distinction. They missed clear damage on two of my Shadowless cards and gave them 8s. No idea what happened, but this is by far the worst returns i’ve had in years.

My return utilizing the PokĆ©mon special was on point, one of the best submissions I’ve had in terms of accuracy.

My last one was a little tough though you wouldn’t know it by the result. 150 10s out of 180 but…all 180 should have been 10s lol.

My last submission was a 1st Edition Team Rocket set submitted on behalf of a friend. After looking at them, the vast majority came back as what I expected them too. He was a very happy camper .

Some more information i also got my grades back not one 10 in the whole lot which was a shame and for sure i was like im regrading some of them and once i got them back all but one of the cards i think are spot on theres a psa 8 which i think should be a 9 other than that the rest i think are alright maybe a tad harsh on some no borderline no point in trying a regrade ( i have only ever regrading like 6/7 only 2 have come back same grade which i then sold for that grade all of my regrades have been 8s to 9s and have kept in my collect never sold a regraded cards before
