Hey guys, so I have a 1st edition Neo Genesis Lugia that is literally perfect… except the card is super offcenter (top yellow border is thin and bottom yellow border is T H I C C).
Plan on not keeping the card if it can’t score a 10, but is it more worth it to grade it and sell it as a 9OC (is there a market for it?) or just ungraded (PSA 9 nets me only a few bucks after fees and everything so figure I’d just sell it raw).
TLDR; A few extra bucks is not worth the hassle for me, so just wondering if 9OC raises its price to 200+ vs a 9 (which is like 100+).
Also while I’m at it – have another lugia (unlimited) that has a single faint factory scratch running vertical towards the middle of the foil. Is it too much to expect a 10 for the card because of this?
As far as the OC grade goes I would be turned off by it. Some people are into those things but I wouldn’t see it pulling in much more than a normal 9. I hear the factory scratches are hit and miss, some graders will ignore a factory scratch while others will dock for it.
But for real, I’d say you got a strong chance at a 9(OC), plus it’s worth it to at least give it a shot. Something about that label is sexy AF and definitely drives in a higher revenue because of it. Heck I’d even throw down a pretty amount for it
Haha, gotcha gotcha, will consider it, but while I have you experts on hand right now… thoughts on the unlimited lugia pls? I have been extremely hesitant on grading neo cards (except for the shinings) for the reason that I don’t want to be disappointed when my grade comes back a 9 :< This lugia would be the first regular holo that I submit from any of the neo sets.
May not take my chances then – leaning more towards selling it raw or might keep it as a 9 depending on how expensive it may be to get my hands on a 9 down the road since I don’t have a PSA 10 1st edition lugia, may never since the price is pretty high, and don’t want to regret not having gotten a 9 earlier.
I totally was thinking it was 20/80 cut or something large. That will definitely just get a 9 at best IMO. You could always detail the card in your submission as oc though
As for the Lugia Unlimited, with that foil line I’d personally put it in the 9 window but a 9 is still a great grade and I’m sure someone out there would love to own it. It has a clean back though so a 10 is possible. Worth sending imo.
Top to bottom OC cards are a bit harder to notice but if you flip the card on its side it will be more apparent. Here is your card next to my PSA declared, OC Dark Charizard.
I definitely think your card can get the OC grade. I’m interested in buying it whether or not you have it graded. I sent you a PM so maybe we can work something out.
