Arent there some confirmed wrong pronunciations in the anime though?
(for the record, “the man” was referring to regice, not ash )
the japanese name is レジアイス which is said as “re-ji-ai-su.” In English, it would look weird to put a double “i,” but I think it makes more sense that it would be said similarly to the Japanese pronunciation, which would also make it align with the “Regi-” naming scheme of the other two + Gigas. This is why my boy will always be Regi-ice in my heart
Youve convinced me
Those Regi Pokemon cries are so weird (mostly Regirock and Registeel). Someone must’ve been having fun mashing together these sound effects and calling them Pokemon cries
When i was a kid, i thought it was SO cool. The regirock flew out of the ground like re-re-re-regirock beep beep boop ÜN ÜN ÜN ÜN and i was like
The language of the Gods!
It’s easy when you are a Finn, you just say them exactly how they are written
Sui-su-ne
Re-gi-se
Nobody else than Finns probably understand but i don’t mind
Haha I was waiting for this! I just think celebi is a celebrity!
Could you imagine catching a dyslexic Muk.
“Dude, you have to stfu in public!”
Sorry for my immaturity.
Generally when I try to figure out what the pronunciation of a Pokemon’s name is I look to see if the Japanese name is the same and pronounce it that way. But then I look at examples like Rayquaza which I’m 95% sure it’s pronounced Ray - koo - za in Japanese and reconsider my choice lol
I will 100% stand with you on Regi-Ice
Yea i have no idea whats going on with rayquaza my incredibly basic understanding of Japanese cant comprehend lmao
