Hi ! I know that prime cards are not very appreciated, but I still believe that some of them are pretty cool. I personally love Lanturn, Feraligatr and Ursaring.

Honestly they look better than almost all CGI half arts that came after them.
They are more cohesive than all of them for sure with a stronger design aesthetic and style.

I’ve always thought the Primes were a good aesthetic idea, but the boring CGI poses didn’t take full advantage of the “mysterious/menacing” vibe.
Only Gengar & Mew pulled it off properly with posing, lighting & colours IMO.

Not gonna do a tier list, I just really don’t like them lol. Artistically they feel lazy, but also feels like a waste for the rarest pulls for the HGSS block to be these. Again Gen 2 gets shafted. TPC Try to give Gen 2 proper treatment challenge!!! (IMPOSSIBLE DIFFICULTY)

I got a prime steelix that I love. In “totally perfect” condition. @ddk can vouch lol
But on the topic, I think Prime Cards are some of the most hit-or-miss cards I’ve seen. Some are really cool, like the Lanturn, but others are…

I think they’re really boring and uninspired.
Back in the day, I could have bought the JP Daisuke Umbreon Prime PSA 10 for $400-$500. The only reason I regret not buying it is because of money. I still don’t like the card.

Just like others, I’m not a huge fan. If I had to rank the Prime cards alongside other cards, they’d almost 100% end up in the D row.
But, since it’s just the Prime cards, I ranked them relative to one another. Even so, I couldn’t put any into the S row..
This time the rows themselves aren’t ordered (they’re in release order instead).
