Yeah… I wouldn’t be surprised something like this is happening (ink removal). I did hear from a source that the wotc factory in Japan was reprinting older pokemon cards again illegally. I don’t know if it was rumour, or real… But, it’s a scary rumour haha.
I personally think this non rarity crap has blown way out of proportion…
There is a fair few charizards on ebay now… Just going unsold. One went at auction for under $60 opened!! I remember seeing it… And it was near mint- ex. Venusaur fell for $27 recently…
I already found 6 non rarity holos including 2 charizards… in just 13 weeks in Japan, and I’m not even focusing on them.
I know of the Japanese retail value of a non rarity lizardon, and it’s not as much as everyone is making it out to be.
Yeah but try finding a mint copy. The japanese have no idea what there doing selling copies for the prices they do. It is same with gold stars, theyll sold this gut 2 gem mint 1st ed quaza for 6,000JPY each Both of em got 10’s -___-
Was thinking this the other day. 6 or wwhatever months ago we were all speculating whether these cards were really going to take off long term or sbe in a bubble.
As far as i can tell apart from a couple of people, these cards really havnt maintained their hype at all??
Yeah mint is tough to find. I know… I just need time syndicate… There are thousands of Japanese pokemon collectors out there, that barely speak English, and don’t really research ebay pricing. I am sure these are out there somewhere in people’s collections.
Just I think the whole market for non rarity is messed up pricing wise.
yeah tell me about it… That factory thing… hmmms That really scares me, maybe you can follow those rumors to the secreting… because there is something fishy about that.
SYUJU17 OWNS THE FACTORY AND IS RESPONSIBLE!!! … kidding.
Someone think hard, where the FUCK could these cards have came from? Is there a possibility that they were never packaged into boosters? Maybe straight out the factory’s machine onto someone’s hands? For the same reason that they forgot the rarity symbol?
has anyone tried opening them by the starter decks and contains no rarity cards? part of me thinks the no rarity cards are like our 1st edition base set print run but since the kids back in the days played with ALL their cards and so forth the collection of them have gotten shorter and shorter in the past 20 years?
There is the mystery of the different booklets inside those decks. The barcode that matches a certain deck MIGHT be the source of where these cards came from. Or the absence of the barcode I don’t precisely recall what it was.
This has been solved already it was Mitsuhiro Arita’s many “letter” drops during the night:
"…packs were thrown from the left hand and out the window landing on many different landscapes. This method of delivery is the main reason why mint cards are tough to find and Nintendo quickly abolished this method of delivery and opted for the more traditional store front style merchandising you are familiar with today. Mr Arita understood the sense and business practicality behind a retail environment for the sale and distribution of these cards but is stated to have preferred his method of delivery… - Pojo Magazine Vol 1a Pgs 65-6
yeah its one of the threads more recent somewhere hiding i think… there was like 28 pages in that thread we all went nuts at eachother in. Good times, basically one of greatest heated battles in history.
Certain people want the No Rarity cards to be so hype because it’s within their interest for them to be popular, which is totally fine of course because there is nothing wrong with trying to make a buck. But the community overall just don’t really care for them, there are a few who go stupid over them and hold them up as a kind of holy grail but for something that’s had a couple of years to gain momentum the interest just isn’t there in any broad sense. It’s a niche collectible and it’s probably going to stay that way.
for me personally There my legacy, and only thing that matters to me xD Pristine no raritan 10’s shall be mine, and rent monies will always be a second priority. I reckon your right, it will be very select few who will get them, or try and collect them.
Thing is though, i keep 1 month ahead of my rent so den this way I have reserves. xD
Theres a fair few people trying to complete there sets for binders, and they spend a fair bit for excellent-NM condition copies.
P.S you wanna see stupid crazy, just wait untill you see what i did recently
