Possible Scam on Whatnot

Lol I can never get the titles right :sob:

This guy offered me $22k for one of my cards, had me facetime & make videos. Made multiple promises on paying for the card then he ghosted me & wasted my time :upside_down_face:

I never do that crap, but he had a seemly good rep so I trusted him. Can’t say I’m surprised he scams.

May I ask the card?:eyes:

A numbered trainer trophy

Edit: No 3 2002 trophy to be specific. Fortunately ended up selling to a real buyer after that bs.

From Reddit/YT comments, it seems that he does this a lot. Promises to buy things but doesn’t.

Wonder what he even gets out of it.

yeah he ghosted me during talks to purchase an item in the 20-30k range

Okay that’s cool. I’ve never seen one. That’s awesome to see

Perhaps it’s not malicious, just negligent.
Who knows… I never assume, I just look for the patterns.

That’s great news, pretty pathetic that this happened more than once. The margins on box breaks are massive usually so scamming on top of that is just sad

Whoah, I didn’t see that coming with how popular his company is. I wonder which platform he’ll move to. Probably ā€œDripā€ or another competitor that I am unaware of.

I’m surprised too. He might go to instagram lives or YouTube or something

pretty sure whatnot is a scam in itself.

More surprising since Blake is a Whatnot investor

I didn’t know that but I can’t say that I am surprised. That must be an awkward situation.

Wow booting Blake Martinez is massive! Crazy to have someone that high up be involved with something so low end.
