I recently received my submission back and noticed something odd. I noticed a corner nick that was not on the card when sent off. Prior to sending in my cards in. I took pictures of the fronts and backs to document condition before sending them off. The nick on the PSA 10 Golduck didn’t appear to be on the card prior to grading. My question is how much does this hurt the value and how does something like this usually occur?
Could this be a plastic fleck/chip from when they cased the card, sitting inside the case? Or are you sure it is direct damage to the card? Kind of looks like a small fleck of plastic but of course hard when the card isn’t in hand.
I guess it is possible, but it looks more like a mild corner nick. Honestly, the more I look at it the more uncertain I am. Here is another close-up if that helps at all.
We might have been looking at different specks. I was referencing the one on the blue border surface, slightly to the left and up from the card edge (not right at the corner).
Regardless, the corner wear seems consistent with the PSA 10 grade standard if the rest of the card is clean, so I wouldn’t sweat it (easy for me to say).
I see what your referring to. That spec got inside the sleeve the PSA holder is in thankfully.
I guess the fortunate part is that the is nick is small. Still wish that it didn’t get nicked in the process, but I guess that is the inherent risk you take with grading.
That really sucks man. They do do that from time to time. Damage people’s cards. I wouldn’t consider that a strong 10. Possibly a weak one.
It’s still a 10, I wouldn’t worry about it
It has minimal back wear besides that and the front is clean. So definitely still a 10. Just not as perfect as I sent it in. Considering the pop is only 53 I shouldn’t be complaining too much haha
