Positive Energy 3: Water

This is my favorite mudkip card of all time, the Daisuke Ochiai Mudkip, look how happy it looks. It also has an interesting release (From Bulbapedia):

An unnumbered XY-P Promotional print of this card was made using the artwork of Daisuke Ochiai, one of the winners of the Your Favorite Pokémon category of the Pokémon Art Academy × Pokémon Card Game contest. The contest was held in Japan from December 14, 2014 to February 1, 2015 and had entrants create an illustration in Pokémon Art Academy of either a Pikachu in a costume or their favorite Pokémon. Entries had to be uploaded to Miiverse and winners received 100 copies of the card featuring their artwork.

Empoleon - Legendary Treasures

This isn’t my favourite water card of all time (Shining Gyarados), but in terms of good vibes, I don’t think this can be matched - Empoleon taking a sweet little overawed bag of trash out to see the world. Just imagine what that Trubbish is feeling, it’s so hilariously absurd.

It is a part of a larger connected story. Lonely Trubbish goes out to sea with it’s friend.

Cheers!

Forever one of my favorite water energy cards, Psyduck from Aquapolis:

A ton of fantastic options in the thread already!

I’ll submit a card that flies under the radar: Misty’s Politoed. Politoed collectors have been bestowed an embarrassment of riches as it’s not even clear to me this is the best art of the bunch.

But for me, it’s a unique art style, it’s a trainer’s pokemon, and it’s a (somewhat) limited release, which all add to its appeal.

I feel like posting anything Blastoise would turn me into a caricature of myself… so, instead here’s the Aquapolis / Wind from the Sea Tentacruel. Love the dark vibes, best Tentacruel art imo!

I think this card perfectly captures contentment.

An ethereal depiction of Suicune.

I often find myself getting lost in this illustration of Totodile. It’s one of those cards that makes me pause every time I look at it, almost as if its move Paralyzing Gaze is actually meant for the onlooker.

I LOVE this card. IDK If it’s uber positive, or cynically negative.

Reminds me of some friendships in my life.

I grew up watching a meteor shower every year with my dad and have always loved raikou, entei, and suicune so this card has always held a special place for me when it was released seeing as they slapped a heartfelt memory for me together with an all time favorite Pokemon.

I’m also a sucker for a beautiful illustration card too!

Hard to pick one but the newest froslass artwork by Mingo has a chokehold

I was expecting you to pick the full art Froslass, but that one is pretty cool as well.

I do like that one, but the vibrant color palette is more appealing to me

I love this story thanks for sharing. I am a suicune fan, so it was also a favorite of mine. Great card from a great set. Suicune rocks.

This is my favorite card from Twilight Masquarade. I knew already cyberurchin liked the regular artwork better. But I love spooky ghostie stuff. Also this is the first card this artist did for the TCG, and I am super hopeful they keep getting more because its stunning and haunting and moody and I’m here for it.

EDIT: I lied on accident, this isn’t their first card. I don’t know how I messed that up. But a newer artist to the scene. They also did the one blitzle IR/AR rarity card which makes sense as I also like that one.
