On Facebook I often see the “why the fuck”. I graded the Weezing myself because it was part of my first ever PSA submission and had to get the feel for it. I knew the card was pack fresh, my personal review didn’t spotted anything and ever since I use it as a minor-benchmark item.
But indeed, some people grade that Caterpie from an unknown set just to own the POP 1/2. I got more respect for those odd-balls like Gav grading Charizard at PSA2 which is a way harder achievement than getting a POP1 of some random common.

For art’s sake (and this being reverse holo) Vanillite is a good candidate to grade. But there are so many cards out with sub-par art which will almost certain be POP1 just because nobody ever would grade them other than completing a set.
It’s okay, the ice cream was hurt but I’m not offended haha.
I actually graded it since I discovered that there was not a single Vanillite graded in any set. It was going to be a POP 1 species. Unfortunately in the time it took to grade, it looks like 2 other people submitted Vanillites from some newer set. It also only got an 8… not sure why, it looks like at least a 9 to me (I’m probably missing something)
So not only is it one of the most disliked Pokémon, it’s not even the first one graded and it only got an 8. I couldn’t even pay someone to take it from me. It’s probably one of the least desirable cards ever graded. For that reason, Ill be sure to love it and give it the forever home it deserves

I’m really hoping my McDonald’s Grubbin can come back a PSA 9 or 10. The only one graded so far got a 5.. those damn dents from the toys! I also am very confident that my card falls into the A) point you made.

Don’t have much pop 1s in my collection, so hopefully the pop 2/3 are alright to post here.
Says pop 1,2 respectively but unsure on the pop of these cosmos holo variants that came from the theme deck, as psa seems to have mislabelled these

Was pop 1 when I got them, but now both pop 2 unfortunately
Even though not pop 1, still pop 3, which is cool to own a psa 10 holo wotc card not many collectors have. Definitely a favourite of mine, as the psa 10 percentage is like 6%, tough card to grade apparently due to lots of holo.

#24 in the set, when using 9-card binder pages Poliwrath is on the center ring. That can be one reason why so low pop.
