a little backstory, around 8 years ago I went to japan and sold/traded a bunch of (plasma) ETBs to a japanese card shop (with the help of a local)
just curious if anyone has any insight of how things work in japan nowadays. is it still only available to japanese or can visitors transact with them (cards stores) directly?
Every time I have sold something to these kind of stores I have had to provide my home address.

aside from the address do you have to show ID or something?
In Japan. Sorry, I totally forgot if you have to show an ID! It’s been a couple years. All I remember is filling the form with my address in Japan. I wouldn’t be surprised if you need some proof of living in Japan. There are a couple forms of ID for this.

just a little update on the topic. Someone in my local league went to japan and sold his japanese tropical beach for cash. no address was asked. he doesn’t know how to speak japanese.

Im from the UK, and have no problem buying or selling cards in Japan, even with my very limited Japanese. It depends on the store and their sale procedure. Most just ask for ID and address and Ive always listed my UK studio address. Some have just made a cash purchase. There is no hard and fast rule it seems, much like here in the UK.
