Pokemon without cards

It’s plausible some of these have been released for the Sword & Shield era and I’ve missed them (since my collection is non-active right now), but in my National Index checklist I included all Pokémon forms, and mentioned those which weren’t released as cards yet. So, here a list of those:

  • Arbok Secondary Circular; Pokémon Ranger; Invulnerability; Attack; and Speed patterns (only the Main/Regenerative; Main Circular; and Dark pattern Arbok have been released as TCG cards)
  • Crystal Onix (the actual crystal one from the anime, would have loved it if this got a card)
  • Mega Pinsir
  • Mega Gyarados (all the Mega Gyarados cards are shiny versions, the regular non-shiny Mega Gyarados is never released)
  • Mega Steelix (all the Mega Steelix cards are shiny versions, the regular non-shiny Mega Steelix is never released)
  • Mega Medicham
  • Mega Banette
  • Mega Metagross (all the Mega Metagross cards are shiny versions, the regular non-shiny Mega Metagross is never released)
  • Mega Latias
  • Mega Abomasnow
  • Arceus Sky; Insect; Toxic; Stone; Spooky; Fist; Icicle; Draco; and Pixie Plates (only the No Plate; Meadow; Flame; Splash; Zap; Mind; Earth; Dread; and Iron Plate Arceus have been released)
  • Deerling Autumn and Winter forms (only Spring and Summer form Deerling have been released)
  • Sawsbuck Autumn and Winter forms (only Spring and Summer form Sawsbuck have been released)
  • Genesect Shock; Burn; Chill; and Douse drives as well as the High-Speed Flight Configuration (only the No drive Genesect has been released as TCG cards)
  • Vivillon Archipelago; Fancy; Garden; Jungle; Monsoon; Poké Ball; Polar; River; Sandstorm; Sun; and Tundra patterns (only the Continental; Elegant; High Plains; Icy Snow; Marine; Meadow; and Savanna pattern Vivillon have been released as TCG cards, and Modern and Ocean pattern Vivillon are present on the artwork of a trainer card)
  • Flabébé Yellow; Orange; Blue; and White Flowers (only the Red Flower Flabébé is released as TCG card)
  • Floettte Yellow; Orange; Blue; and White Flowers on separated cards (there is one Floette artwork containing all five colors at once)
  • Florges Yellow; Orange; Blue; White; and Eternal Flowers (only the Red Flower Florges is released as TCG card)
  • Furfrou Diamond; Pharaoh; La Reine; Dandy; and Debutante Trim (only Natural; Heart; Star; Kabuki; and Matron Trim Furfrou are released)
  • Neutral Mode Xerneas (only Active Mode Xerneas cards have been released)
  • Zygarde Cell (and the Zygarde Core is only available as Trainer card. Zygarde 10% Forme; 50% Forme; and Complte Forme are all available on cards, though)
  • Silvally Flying; Bug; Poison; Rock; Ground; Dark; Ghost; Steel; Ice; Dragon; and Frairy Memories (only No Memory Silvaly cards are available, and the Grass; Fire; Water; Electrice; Psychic; and Fighting Memory are available as Trainer cards)
  • Minior Orange; Yellow; Green; Blue; Indigo; and Violet Cores (only Meteor Form and Red Core Minior are available as TCG cards)
  • Mimikyu Busted Form (only Disguised Form Mimikyu are available)
  • Radiant Sun Phase Solgaleo (only the regular Solgaleo is available)
  • Full Moon Phase Lunala (only the regular Lunala is available)
  • Magearna Origin Color (only the regular Magearna is available)

And there are also a bunch of easy distinguishable gender differences which were never available on cards. Here my National Index checklist, if you want to check those. And here my current National Index collection to see all forms and gender differences that ARE available on cards (excluding gen 8 and Sword & Shield released cards).

Its crazy to think about how many cards have been printed and then how many pokemon haven’t even made it onto cardboard yet.

meanwhile this piece of shit has holos and reverses

I’d also be interested to know which cards feature male/female Pokemon variants.

For example - Base Gyarados is the only female Gyarados card (white barbels), while every other card showcases the male one.

Edit: Oops, saw that @quuador already mentioned that on the bottom of his post!

I’ve only included the ones with very obvious gender differences in my list, but if you want a full list, here is one on Bulbapedia: bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_with_gender_differences

There’s actually just under 25,000 in case you’re keeping track (I do  ).

I think it’s pretty unlikely. While megas like Lopunny and Sableye got lucky at the end to be printed in tag teams, those were in Sun & Moon sets, and megas were still a thing in Sun & Moon. With the switch to Sword and Shield I just don’t see it happening since megas were replaced with dynamax. Unless megas are reintroduced in some later gen, or if they make cards based on Pokemon Go.

But I’d be happy for Pokemon to prove me wrong because I’d love to have a Mega Abomasnow!

Just found some weird South American cards, idk if these count as cards (don’t know if they’re even official) but I wanted to mention them, also I can show more of these cards if you guys need, there’s also one for mega medicham, Mega banette, mega pinsir, and mega latias

Excuse me… May I ask for more of this?
I’m sort of into non-tcg you know…

Forgive the off topic here, it’s for science.

How rude of you both to forget Sekio’s Winter Sawsbuck!

To go along with the above; Winter Deerling from the same set, a full rainbow of Minior Cores from its upcoming Illustration rare, and arguably a Busted Mimikyu getting fixed up by Acerola;

Edit:

It would be really embarrassing for me if I discovered only now that this was a three-year-old topic.

The “holy grail” of an Abomasnow collector would probably be the countdown calendar reprint

Hey if we’re digging out this topic anyway I might just add that the grail cards would probably (since I can find the calendar promo for sale right away in all 3 confirmed languages) more likely be the Polish & Russian reverses and the Japanese XY8 unlimited card, coincidentally almost the same sets and languages as for my Staraptor collection.

These look like 3 Reyes cards from Peru, not 100% sure tho. They aren’t official but some of them are quite nice looking anyway, they used to have a license (now i don’t remember if they actually were navarrete back then?) but after losing the right to print official cards they’ve just continued with unofficial ones. They are basically as close as real thing in Peru so they are quite popular and even have some international popularity.
