Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets New Sales Record in Europe

In 2022, the Pokémon Company International continued its success from the previous year with another record-breaking performance in retail sales across Europe, with a significant boost from its popular Trading Card Game (TCG) and toy product lines.

In 2022, Pokémon achieved its highest annual position ever in Germany, the U.K., and Italy. It was ranked No. 4 in Germany (up from No. 9) with 44% growth, had two products in the top 50 toys by revenue, and was the best-performing top 15 property. In the U.K., it was No. 4 (up from No. 7), and in Italy, it was also No. 4, showing the strongest growth among the top 15 properties with a 101% increase year over year. Additionally, Pokémon maintained its No. 1 position in both Belgium and the Netherlands, with four products in the top 50 items in the latter country. The highly anticipated Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet expansion, which introduces Tera Pokémon ex with unique etched artwork, is set to launch on March 31st.

Quite an interesting article. Was curious What your thoughts on this are. Especially considering the drought of BBs and crown zenith ETBs.

Great news for the hobby in general when you know a new generation of collectors/players have been created!

Give it a decade and these kids will be adults reminiscing about Celebrations and the SciVi release!
