How did you come across this card?
Could you upload multiple photos of your card? Perhaps next to another japanese pokemon card.

Its called the hit and run technique, made famous by the monks of Uluru they would ask a question and disappear without waiting or providing an answer leaving those in the question’s wake bamboozled and yearning for an answer or the original questioneer to return. Historians dictate that those left the most bamboozled eventually turned into what we know today as Panda Bears hoping that the cure for their bamboozlement would be in fact bamboo itself. Will we ever hear back from @will11wilson ? Can anyone assist in the value? Can a Panda eat anything but bamboo?

The snap card charmander is in good to very good condition. Three minor indentations to the back and one to the front. Bottom left from the margin to the second thick black line 2 mm long. Slight curl top right.
The battle card is in well used condition.
All of the Japanese collection came via Brian Grabow in 1999/2000. As an American GI he was on the streets of Tokyo picking up these cards. Still going strong I believe. The extensive JP Pokemon collection is being catalogued for future disposal in 2017.

Were you the same individual from yesterday? The charmander cards look the same. However, the individual yesterday had an IP address from Los Angeles CA, and your IP is from the United Kingdom.

The card is the same. I asked my son to open up the thread as I was unsure of posting in the first place. The Zapdos is a fairly good fake but the HP is too thick and the pic will not show the darker border. Didn’t think when I used it. Just took a mint card for comparison. I have 21 x 36 litre boxes to sort out. Just separating the Japanese at present.
I am in the UK. I do not have a copy of the ebay auction now. The second highest bidder contacted me offering more wishing he had bid higher.
I shall need help identifying some items but most are sealed in their original packing.
I know Brian Grabow well, and just asked him if he remembers selling a charmander snap. Here is what he said:
“Scott, I dont think it was me to be honest. I dont think Ive ever sold a charmander snap (or any of the snap cards). Thats why Im not really familiar with them and was shocked at the prices.”
I reiterated the situation, if he ever sold any snap card, and he said:
“Im 99.9% sure I have never sold one.”

I beg to differ with Brian. I still have an old box which he used to send a lot of stuff to me. Still it is a long time ago. I did message him a few weeks ago on messenger but he never replied. I had two contacts in Japan both Brian and a Japanese guy who wanted Yowies. He sent me Pokemon in return especially the ANA stuff and the battle card which cost nothing as he retrieved it from a discard box at a tournament. The snap card though came through ebay that I am certain.
Would you mind messaging me your information? Perhaps an email or something in which he can verify. Only trying to verify the sale for authenticity.
Tbh I have already stated that the provenance paperwork was lost or discarded in the past. Since 1999 I have moved 3 times. The card is genuine and has been seen by a few people in the past when I ran Pokemon tournaments. A head judge in the UK was shown it around 2007. I am having it graded early in the new year.
I assume this is the first Charmander version to surface. If that is the case then it has no value until it is sold.

Awesome! Grade it and throw it up for auction. If it’s authenticated, you’re going to get your best price that way.
