The charmander snap card as well as the extensive Japanese collection is now in the hands of Ludkins Collectibles which is on facebook and videos on youtube. Kindly contact Barney Ludkin to remain in the loop as he makes sense of it all. Most items are sealed and things like JR and ANA stuff has all the paperwork. Promos in sealed books mags etc. It is an extensive collection. Key cards he thinks are worth grading will go to psa first. Barney has international contacts and well respected in pokemon circles. Is anyone else interested to see if they host another snap trophy event since they’re remaking the snap game? I think it’s the perfect opportunity

Are you sure pokemon snap is being remade? I haven’t heard anything about it.
They re-released it today for the WiiU.

I’ve been playing it all day while simultaneously crying about how I’ll probably never own any of the magical snap cards. 
Needless to say I have not took many worthwhile photos so far. & Another snap trophy event would be absolutely crazy! somebody contact nintendo about this now please! 
Thought I’d post here, seeing as I’m not getting anywhere. I’m after one of these snap poliwag cards. How do I go about acquiring one? The twitter page doesn’t exist anymore and the listings on yahoo Japan have all finished. I’ve contacted a member on this forum twice about the card, but so far I’ve not heard anything back. Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks

I believe the seller sold them all.
Two weeks ago he told a friend of mine he only had 4 left. So I’m assuming he doesn’t have any left since he stopped listing them.
I have also been told the seller sold them all. I started to wonder when people started trying to get $5-10K each on every sales medium I know of. Which is pretty funny to watch.
Oh well! I shouldnt have waited. Didn’t honestly think he would have sold them all considering the price. Plus I’ve only saw 4 or 5 listed on yahoo Japan for auction.
I feel like I missed something – did someone just sell a bunch of Snap cards on Y!J? How much was he/she asking?

Yeah, Poliwag winner popped up and sold 16 copies. Prices between $2K-4K as far as I’ve seen.
Wow! $2-4K doesn’t sound terrible at all and since he had that many I bet he was willing to negotiate the price too.
I am in such love with these cards! I remember when I was little I wanted my photos as cards, but until about 10 years ago I never knew they existed.
It is one of my goals as a collector to have at least one of these!

It’s pretty standard. I think just about every one ever sold has been in that price range. They’ve never been all that on the radar.
I suspect the market on them is overestimated by resellers. They’re going to have a long wait ahead if they want any worthwhile profit. It’s not a good resale plan for the short term.

Years ago, 8 snaps sold between £4,250-11,000. I assume the Pikachu was the 11,000 price tag. Not sure if the poliwag sold in that batch.
Either way, Snap cards are definitely niche items. Not extremely well known like the big 3 trophies (pika, ssb, tmb). Also, as with any card, there are variables like market saturation (this card was heavily self saturated).
Basically there are a lot of people who like the Snap cards, but the big spenders are going to empty their pockets for more notable items: Illustrator, big 3 trophies, PSA 10 1st Ed Base, more established japanese promos, etc. This is pretty clear as the Gyarados snap sat on ebay for ages at a very reasonable price. It also was listed by a reputable seller, was a more popular species, and had a much better artwork than poliwag imo.
