This seller is just trying to hang with those instagram flippers who brag about their recent purchase. He forgot to tag 20 people and add “fire” “dm me if interested”.
You gotta give him props, he held onto many copies for years and is wanting to cash out on his investment and patience. I can see some people paying $1-2K USD for one
No doubt in my mind it’ll go for more than 1-2K, we really don’t know what could happen. What if he sold off all of them? Interesting to see what comes of this. Imagine if this made the others who have them or if they still exist come out of the wood work with their cards. Maybe like our modern day illustrator cards that happened a few years ago and some squeak their way into the market
According to his listing he seems to think the card could sell for 1 million yen (just under 10k usd lol)…I think he has EXTREMELY high expectations. It’s a rare card for sure but it doesn’t exactly have the eye appeal the others do and I’m not sure there’s too many die hard Poliwag fans out there If anything I feel like the first one will go for the most and then as he sells more and more of them they’ll keep selling for less and less.
There are a couple potential buyers in the high thousands price bracket. A few snap cards have sold in the high thousands, at least one for 5 figures. However, snap cards are lesser known. Also, since the owner shared they have this many copies, it will probably be a deterrent. Unless they decide to not sell any of the additional for some reason.
That’s just lol, sounds like this guy thinks he’s fallen into the holy grail of Pokemon cards…good luck! For the history and rarity, sure it’s cool. But it’s a pretty ugly card with a limited market and as everyone else in the thread has pointed out; he definitely didn’t do himself any favors by posting that he has all of those! They’ll all hit the market within the next year - this is the best time to sell big ticket items and everyone knows it whether they’ll admit it or not
