Ooo that’s interesting any idea how much it went for ?

Wow! I would’ve done my best to get it. I know its a lot of money but its one of those things where you just don’t know when they will ever show up again. :slightly_frowning_face:

Cards will always come up again, they always do. But it had quite some edge wear etc so its not a great loss x

Yes, the seller jimmy wasn’t even considering offers in the 2k range. Also the card was not mint.

He also sold his other snap cards for much higher than the gyarados sticker price.

Oh ok; I was gonna say lol. Thanks for the info buddy.

I think I remember the Koffing being for sale a couple years ago. I want to say it was like $900 but that hurts to think about…
anybody else remember this?

The Bulbasaur Snap card is at the top of my most wanted list, along with the Pikachu Illustrator.

the snap cards are the ultimate trophy. there like the no rarities of trophy cardlings. I really want em.

I don’t really care about the Pikachu Illustrator (unless for resell). The SNAP Pikachu however, is also among my top. My current top card I want is the ‘Pure Gold’ Base Pikachu however, and I’m seriously doubting. My mind says no, my conscientiousness says no, but my collection vibe says yes… It’s so frustrating to see your most wanted card available, but for such a price. Everyone always wished they were young again (as do I sometimes), but currently I would have preferred to be older, having settled with a job, family, house and car… Then 2k is still a lot, but easier justified and easier to get back. Now however…
I’m still not gonna get it however, no matter how much I want it. I know myself too well in that regard. I’ve bought things I really, really, really wanted in the past (which were luckily a bit more affordable, but still pricey… like 100-350 USD) and in some cases in the end I was like: why did I buy it again. Yes I wanted it badly, but now that I have it it feels kinda anticlimactic and boring…

But I’m derailing again, sorry. Same story applies to the SNAP Pikachu card however. Although I’ll probably buy that one for 2k if I find one for the sole reason that I know it’s worth A LOT more than that, and I could always resell it for a lot of profit if I choose to (not that I will when I ever get it however…)

A Gyarados was on eBay in 2014: www.ebay.com/itm/Japanese-Pokemon-1999-Coro-Coro-Best-Photo-Competition-SNAP-GYARADOS-Promo-/380759944856?nma=true&si=z4L2rJwO4JWebmzrPKRsaSXYyUM%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Don’t know if it sold though

I recall seeing it still for sale in 2015, with an asking price of 5K USD

Yea the card was still for sale in 2015 when I started collecting and was up for a fair time after.

Does anyone know who bought it, or if it was someone on this forum? I believe it was actually sold, if i remember correctly

I also recall seeing it for around $3k OBO at one point too, I’m sure it inevitably ended up selling once it hit this price point.
