You can ignore the waffling article. Its just a big PR stunt by TPCi’s biggest simps. But they made massive cards and even put them in massive booster packs. Unfortunately the article only has 2001 tier photo sizes, ironic. I know in the far flung past, there have been these poster sized cards used as just that, posters. Things used to decorate for events. But I don’t recall them ever making entire decks worth of cards to actually play with. I thought this was really interesting. What they did with all the cards after that I don’t know. The writer seems to imply he at least took one home. the Mega Evolutions bulbasaur Illustration rare.
This was an interesting idea. I am a big fan of cool store displays. So I think it would be fun to see store kits get giganto booster packs with poster sized cards they can use to decorate the store with. Maybe just 2 cards per set. I’d obviously say that they need to be a little more substantial than the cards in this event, they seemed very precarious and floppy. But it was something I think we have all thought would be cool if they did. Too bad they didn’t do it at a real tournament with tcg players. Imagine how awesome it would be for the finalists to do a warm up round with these jumbo decks?
So…do we speculate that the rest of the cards exist out there…somewhere? Or have they been hewn down and thrown into a furnace?
