Nov. 20, 2025 — The Pokémon Company International announced today that a new expansion for the bestselling Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), Mega Evolution—Ascended Heroes, will be available beginning Jan. 30, 2026, at participating retailers worldwide.
Inspired by the recently launched Pokémon Legends: Z-A video game, Mega Evolution—Ascended Heroeswill welcome new characters and locations to the Pokémon TCG. Trainers can look forward to discovering cards featuring new Mega Evolution Pokémon ex — including Mega Dragonite ex — and Trainer’s Pokémon. In addition, players will encounter returning fan-favorite Mega Evolution Pokémon ex and Trainer’s Pokémon that appear in Mega Evolution—Ascended Heroes with new illustrations.
Furthermore, Mega Evolution—Ascended Heroes will introduce an all-new card rarity: Mega attack rare, which features attack names in Japanese katakana, as originally revealed during the 2025 Pokémon World Championships in August 2025.
Noteworthy cards from the expansion include:

- Six Tera Pokémon ex and 20 Pokémon ex
- 33 illustration rare Pokémon
- 14 ultra rare Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, Pokémon ex and Trainer cards

The upcoming expansion features new Mega Evolution Pokémon ex along with Trainer’s Pokémon and Stellar Tera Pokémon ex.
Newly discovered Mega Evolution Pokémon ex like Mega Dragonite ex join Trainer’s Pokémon and Stellar Tera Pokémon ex in the upcoming Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion, Mega Evolution—Ascended Heroes. This new expansion includes over 290 cards, including over 30 Trainer cards. There are also more than 30 Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations, some of which feature Mega Evolution Pokémon ex showing off their biggest and boldest attacks. Be on the lookout for Mega Evolution—Ascended Heroes which arrives on January 30, 2026.
