Pokémon Emerald Battle Factory

Not sure if this would fit in the “sour grapes” section, but I NEED to blow off some steam before I continue this grind.

I have been going after this gold symbol since this game first released- I don’t even want to check how many years that is.
After completing all of the battle Maison challenges in more recent games, I had regained confidence to attempt this once again, only to painfully remember how much harder of a challenge the battle factory is.

Firstly, double team needs to go. This move is solely responsible for wasting hours of my time. It seems that whenever the opponent uses it, they are invincible. Yet when I use it, I wouldn’t be surprised if it DECREASED my evasion.

Critical hits. I am convinced that the opponents have a 1/10 critical hit chance, it’s ridiculous.
-check opponents Mon in the database for their moveset
-opponent attacks
-know I live this attack
-A CRITICAL HIT
2 hour run ended

Why do moveset like these exist:
MACHAMP (3), hardy, QC, 321,359,196,229,206,146, cross chop, fire blast, thunderpunch, ice punch
Keep in mind, the elemental punches are special, not physical.

Heracross is too damn strong for no damn reason.

OHKO moves should be illegal, it’s actually cheating, they never miss.

I can not even begin to describe the sounds I make when I see I’m up against a toxic staller.

Please let me achieve this in 2020.

The Battle Frontier is simultaneously one of the most amazing, challenging, intense and at times frustrating experiences in the Gen III and IV games. I’ve spent over 1000 hours trying to get the 49 wins Gold Print in HGSS. I think I only made it to Thornton once in the Lvl. 50 Battles and 5 times in the Lvl. 100 Battles. I never managed to win, though!

In Battle Tower I ran the popular Acupressure Drapion set and getting the 50 wins there was really easy. Not being able to get critically hit makes a world of difference! I do remember the following: I had my Drapion at +6 across the board when I was frozen solid for 37 turns in a row, but I still won easily because of how broken Acupressure Drapion is. When the house is cheating, you have to even the odds somehow, am I right?

Definitely, if you are unlucky with what Pokémon you get then you’re probably better off restarting. Thanks and I’ll try and get this done soon!

I’ve seen these, they are absolutely hilarious.

Absolutely, I was disappointed that they didn’t bring it back in the gen 3 remakes, it’s such a good piece of content.
And yep, battle tower was shown no mercy!

@joshan5 ,
i 100%'d the game sometime around last year.

heres some tips:
Latios. Dude is so op even tho soul dew doesnt work, get one with a +spa nature, ev accordingly and go calm mind, dragon claw, psychic/thunderbolt and recover. add a lum berry. dude will will shred through everything in the battle tower and can set up calm minds on almost anything thats not a strong physical attacker (watch out for shadow ball)
For the few enemies that dont allow latios to set up, theres great pokemon like zapdos if you went for psychic and swampert is also a1.

Always carry a nevermiss move on your team like aerial ace or faint attack. I had this on my zapdos during battle tower and it turned almost every double team mon into free ko’s. Carrying toxic on a pokemon is also a must, along with a way to outstall in case nothing else works.

And as for the battle palace, make sure your pokemon has natures that makes it use attacking moves. Otherwise its borderline impossible. Only the Battle Tower and Battle Palace really gave me any trouble, the rest of the facilities were won more or less on first attempt and i used different teams for all of them to counter the bosses as well as take advantage of the facilities. (Natural Cure, Guts and Marvel Scale in Battle Pike makes it completely free)

and at least theres no accuracy hacks like the 80% accurate 1hko moves in battle tree. fuck that place

Cheers for the tips, While I haven’t attempted the other facilities, I reckon I’d do much better since, like you suggested, I can make really good teams.

Though the factory on the other hand, well its been a month and I’m still attempting it! @caslon ,

for the battle factory you wanna swap pokemon every round, as youll get better pokemon the more swaps you do. also make sure to check the stats of the pokemon youre borrowing, theres some weird stuff like a special based gyarados w only 210 spa. if a pokemon has over 400 attack/special attack and a stab move to go with it, theyre a great addition
