I just saw this on the Pokemon website. I didn’t even know there was a Pokemon day! It is the release date of Pokemon Red and Green in Japan back in 1996.
You can vote for your favourite Pokemon of the year for each region by searching for “Pokemon vote” on Google.
There will also be some updates for the Pokemon games including GO and Sword and Shield. See link below for more details:

@fireftw87, Ive been voting for the past few days now, but my boy Cyndaquil probably wont be that popular haha. I wonder though if theyre going to do anything else special for the day or if some kind of releases might be planned as well
I don’t know the newer Pokémon well so I just voted in the first three regions.
For Kanto I imagine the typically popular Pokémon will be in the mix:

I am thinking mostly the legendary Pokémon here such as Lugia, Ho-oh, the dogs, celebi

I think they would probably have some surprise up their sleeve for the day! It will be interesting to see what happens 
@fireftw87 , I honestly think the two everyone loves, charizard or Pikachu for sure will be in the runner ups but I’m really thinking mew or mewtwo might take the winner spot.
Im totally fine with that! haha if you love the basic its hard not to love the big dude that it evolves into! haha
But yeah I am curious if theres any cool surprises down the road as well. Might be some cool product coming our way thats being kept under wraps so definitely have to keep an eye out!
