Pokémon card artists with amazing work outside of Pokémon

I found myself looking up the artists behind some of my favorite modern Pokémon card artworks and became genuinely interested in their work. What fascinated me even more was seeing how they adapted Pokémon/their surroundings to fit their own unique art styles.

So I wanted to ask: are there any Pokémon card artists you’d recommend who are well known for work outside of Pokémon, or whose non-Pokémon art you enjoy just as much (or even more)? I’d love to discover more artists with distinctive styles and check out their other work.

One of the most popular examples would probably be Palafin by Tetsuo Hara, who is the Manga Artist behind Fist of the North Star:

This is immediately one of my favorite threads.

Flowers, leaves and trees are recurring motifs in tono’s illustrated cards.

Her original works are whimsical and farytale-like, with cats, humans, bunnies and other creatures dressed in Victorian-era garb:

This was one of the few artists I followed on ig before I got rid of it. I didn’t know they started doing cards!

Ahhh you are very correct indeed. I love the fairytale, whimsy vibes!

I actually have some of their art from the Stickii Club 2024 Advent calendar collaboration (the vintage pack). It’s amazing! Each day in the little binder alternated between a few different artworks, and I saved all the envelopes the stickers came in lol.
