Hopefully it follows the same trend as v star universe did. When the english equivalent and reprints came it corrected.
Yea bought only one $150
And idk if I wanna get another or wait for the English set.
I think Iâll wait for the English set. I bought the singles I wanted but wanted to open a box for fun but not for that much lol
I know its the new set symbol, but what is the âMEWâ in the MEW EN symbol referencing?
Venusaur
how dare you speak to me with such insolence
Maybe Mew English?
My question is why is this set referred to as âMEWâ.
Obviously yes, the set code references Mew and English. But why is this set code Mew instead of something like CP6 or SV4.
They like using non numerical character set codes for the west (SVI, PAL, OBF), so Iâm guessing MEW is probably a cheeky way to use not numbers since Mew is the 151st Pokemon.
I think this might be it

Ok forgive me for asking this if its already been discussed but this thread is huge! And my search skills didnât yield any results. For those more familiar with new Japanese collecting (I have a bunch of old Japanese cards from the OG era but am less familiar with the more recent trends), how likely is Pokemon 151 to have plenty of supply? Obviously right now there is major hype. Itâs a new release and the current supply canât meet the demand. While they are printing to demand, its really just one box per person which I donât see as meeting demand. Obviously there seems to be other boxes being printed and sold to distributors. Whatâs the likelihood of those coming down to reasonable levels in the future? I.e. Say $100 or less per booster box.
i assume you will have a time where you can find them for around 100 per box or maybe less, but that period will be short after the other waves come in later this year. unfortunately weâre in a period where buying japanese boxes at msrp is hard even for people in japan.
Do you think its possible though that with this being the OG pokemon that the Pokemon Company will know that its going to be super popular and they make actually print a lot more of it than normal?
TPCi maybe. TPC not really. they donât typically take the time to go back and reprint large quantities of old sets. usually there are only 1-3 print runs of every set outside of their end of year sets which usually get 3-4 prints.
these are general expectations. not hardline rules. there is always a chance⌠i just donât expect there to be much more after the made-to-order stuff is fulfilled.
Dang thatâs a bummer. Thanks for the info!
I think the Japanese set will cool off a bit when the English set releases, sadly thatâs still almost 3 months awayâŚ
Do you think itâll end up being better to buy each card individually, or buy a box or two and then fill in the gaps? Generally, I think âBuy the singles you need,â but perhaps itâs worth a risk for some of the more pricey onesâŚ?
singles would be cheaper, but I always buy packs to open since its just more fun. I get to experience the new art and occasionally I do get a nice pull that âsaves moneyâ, but its more the experience for me.
