Pokemon boosters vs Digimon and DBZ prices

One of these is the biggest media franchise in the world, the other one is Digimon.

Theyll absolutely be over $1000, 20 years now since release, dragonball z is arguably the biggest (anime) of all time.

I don’t that Dragonball is the biggest or most popular anime series. I looked for sources, but only really found opinions besides myanimelist’s ranking.

Did you watch the video mate? Haha
And from my knowledge its the 2nd highest grossing media franchise anime ever after pokemon

Does anyone know if score dbz booster packs can be weighed?
I’m thinking of buying some loose packs, but not if there’s no chance of there being any good cards inside

I dont believe so mate, there’s a holo in every pack … but dbz is very difficult, pulling an ultra rare is unbelievably rare

Any thoughts here on Bandai getting into the English Digimon TCG again? Global release is scheduled for January 2021 with pre-sales taking place in November.

I know there’s some hype among local players here, but I wonder how much of that is nostalgia versus it being a good game? Hopefully they don’t completely botch the gameplay again like they did with the original TCG!

Yea I said dbz not dbs haha, I only speak about score.

I think Digimon is going to have a hard time competing as I just don’t see the popularity, but I think some vintage yugioh and dbz has some potential and is certainly way undervalued compared to pokemon to me. But that doesn’t mean enough people will agree with that to move that market! However I do think that if you like something often many other people do as well. With the spike in pokemon TCG I have been working on parts of my yugioh and dbz collections and I think others will have the same thought and the prices on those cards will rise and many have already. Personally I would much rather have for example bandai yugioh cards from 1998 that are very difficult to find in mint condition and have amazing art than I would any modern chase pokemon card. But that is definitely a preference thing, I like stuff from the 1990’s and I like the chase of trying to track down and or grade them myself.

As a game Bandai supported DBS really well, tons of tournament support and the dash packs are a great incentive to get people to buy packs.

This time they debuted the game in Japanese first and it has a ton of interest as well as there being an online client. I’ve seen stores throw up pre-orders and people are going after it like there’s no tomorrow.

BUT

This happened with DBS, huge hype behind it but then they overprinted the product and the first 6 sets were sitting at liquidation way below cost in larger stores’ warehouses. The first couple of releases of any new tcg usually draw people in but a lot of people drop off after a year and the manufacturers need to reassess product design and quantity.

The balancing act Bandai needs this time round is to not burn stores who invest in the game. They should be aggressive with premium rarities and alternate arts similar to the Victory Strike Goku and the Signature SPRs. There needs to be controlled print quantities and value for collectors and it can’t happen 5 sets in, needs to be established from the beginning of the product line’s life.

Regardless of what happens to the new Digimon TCG I am in it to finally get some Digimon cards with my favorite mons in card forms for the first time ever, I missed the first Digimon TCG growing up and I am not missing this one.

I think that was only for the saiyan saga, later sets they changed it to 1 in every 2 or 3 packs
