Pokecolor officially partners with Ebay

Pokecolor, the leading auction house in China has officially partnered with eBay (not sure if that’s just PR or this is a little bigger than other eBay shops).

Some of the heads of eBay took a tour of Pokecolors offices/shop in Shanghai and have announced some type of partnership (details not specified).

You can check out their shop here: pokecolor_official | eBay Stores

Hopefully this means some of the collectors on E4 get access to the auctions in China that have been closed off up until this point.

Is this the company whose auction results you share in that thread? Btw it’s nice when you post those, I always check them!

It is. I’ve been meaning to post those again as holidays and travel have come to an end. Will get them going again starting with tonight’s block.

Oh cool! Now it will be even easier to post with them on ebay! :pikajoy:

I’d assume that Pokecolor won’t be instantly running their full block on eBay. Currently they run pokemon auctions daily (Saturday and Sunday being the premium blocks) as well as some WS/OP blocks. I’ll try to confirm a timeline with the employees and report back any updates. I can already see they have put a premium on their eBay BIN listings. The Creatures Chansey is available over here for $25k, so will likely be a slow process as they really try to get everything right with logistics etc.

Is there information about who owns PokeColor? I’ve tried to learn more about the company, but I think I am limited by my searches in English.

Supposedly someone named Hanru Tang is the PSA Dealer Contact for PokeColor in China, but it’s unclear to me if this person owns PokeColor or is a representative.

I am curious how this company sprung up so quickly and where their money and support are coming from.

Regardless, I was happy to see them partnering with eBay! I saw their higher-end cards listed a few days ago.

I’ll do some digging and get back to you. I don’t think the PSA rep has a stake as the partnership with PSA happened a little while after Pokecolor appeared and they partner with many LGS’s across China. If I ask Pokecolor to grade cards for me, they point me in the direction of their affiliates in my city, rather than submit the cards themselves. Submissions are done away from any Pokecolor app so I don’t think they receive any fees. Although possibly naive to assume, I think they structured things this way in order to make the ability to submit with PSA within China much easier and just to help the ecosystem move forward.

One of the benefits to living in Hawaii is simply being in Hawaii. But one of the negatives is shipping. For some reason they never want to ship to Alaska or Hawaii :unamused:

An update on fees for sellers that consign with Pokecolor on EBay.

$0-2500 15% fee (shipping included)
$2500+ (partial 15% on the first $2500 and 6% on anything above $2500).

Not sure how common the split fee structure is. Seems a little strange but I’ve never consigned so have no idea what others charge.

As a comparison, if you consign on the mainland, fees are 7% for auction (auction will begin within 7 days) and 13% for express auction (3 days). There is also an option to bin list with 5% fees if the listing price does not exceed the last sale on the platform.
