Poke-apocalypse: What would you choose?

Setting the scene here:

You have survived a nuclear war and are living in post apocalyptic world where your Pokemon cards no longer have any monetary or trade value. You are leaving your home behind and only have space to carry one Pokemon card with you. What would you take and why?

(This is just a idea to share a favourite card from everyone’s collection without value swaying their decision)

Mine would be:

A couple of reasons, my brother gave this card to me when I was a kid. I didnt know anyone else with this prerelease 1st edition card at the time so thought this was super rare and I loved the badass look of Aerodactyl.

Also maybe ill meet a Aerodactyl in the post apocalyptic world and could make friends with it if I have this card.

Mine would be Crystal Lugia.

Close second: Jungle Jolteon holo

Simple reason is those have my favorite artworks in the hobby.

Ditto because reasons.

It would have to be a nonfoil card in case I needed to use it as tinder for starting a fire… Maybe a base set tangela.

Mine would be my: Dragonite from Team Rocket! - Favorite Pokemon
Close second would be: Coro Coro Mew

Dark Charizard holo from Rocket because it was my first favorite card when I was a kid, followed by Lugia from Neo Genesis.

Reverse holo expedition feraligator (the one where he looks badass). I’d choose the same one I peeled the holo off and aligned it back with a glue stick as a kid.

You beat me to the punch.

Either of these four, my favorite artwork of all Pokémon TCG cards:

Probably the 1st edition PSA-10. PSA-protection is of course better in a post-apocalyptic world, and I don’t really like the holo circle right at the mouth of Moltres on the UED one. :slightly_smiling_face:

Rayquaza gold star for me. Can’t beat its aesthetics!!

This art kinda looks like moltres is having a rough morning after a night out with the boys.

My psa 9 shadowless Charizard. I would drill a whole through the slab and wear it as a necklace.

Mayhem everywhere, everyone is freaking out, looting and killing each other and here’s a guy wearing a Pokemon card as a necklace.

The thought of that seems so funny to me.

My Venubae. Bulbasaur was my starter when I first played Red, and so I really wanted this card but never got it from a pack. There was one kid at my school who had Venusaur, and I wasn’t on very good terms with him. I can’t remember what I traded but I think it involved money as well, maybe £5 or £10, bearing in mind this was when Freddo’s and Taz’s were 10p.

I was so caught up in the trade that I didn’t notice it was Base Set 2 or that he had put his initials on the back. So if you’re reading this, Thomas Griffiths, I want you to know that I’ve never forgiven you.

Could be beneficial in that world, I would probably think ‘this guy, he must be crazy’ and leave him well alone

That gold pikachu released in Japan

Why?

Sharpen it into a point = knife
tie that knife to a stick = spear
melt it down and use the little pieces of gold to barter with
use the melted down gold to repair electronic
can’t get damaged by water

best card

I’d leave the Pokemon card behind and use the space for something useful.

I dont think this topic is for me.

My sealed Ancient Mew card. That way I can open it one last time. That card is one the most beautiful cards I have ever seen & own.

Can the card come to real life and help me in the apocalypse.

I’d choose something ditto related, as he would transform to whatever I need.

When I say whatever… I mean… whatever
