After the start of a discussion on the e4 Discord about if pineapple belongs onto Pizza or not I decided to start this thread (before the situation escelates on the discord).

I personally have no idea how someone was cruel enough to put pineapple on a pizza. It just doesnt works and is awful in every way.
There are so many nice Pizzas, can’t we just cancel culture pizza hawaii please??

The juxtaposition of sweet and savoury flavours is a masterful skill, see:
Pineapple on a Nando’s chicken wrap
Burgers with an oozing chocolate center
Doughnuts for burger buns
Chinese sweet and sour sauce (which inspired the original
Chef of the Hawaiian pizza).
EDIT: Almost forgot the classic, Duck with Orange sauce. And who’s not forgetting the use of bacon in sweet things (see pancakes etc).

the real crime is thin pizza. thin pizza literally costs more money than regular or fat pizza. less pizza more dollars. make it make sense.

Pineapple is a wonderful thing and definitely belongs to pizza as well.
I literally get ham/pineapple on every pizza.
Half ham/pineapple, half pep/basil.

I have no problems with pineapple on pizza. It’s a lovely topping and a fine fruit.
Broccoli on the other hand, has no business being on a pizza and should get much more hate than the beloved pineapple.

I dont know why anyone would put Broccoli on Pizza. But outside of that, Broccoli is great, with a unique taste and structure. I love it.
It’s always the people who dislike it that make such a big deal out of it.
I like it a lot, IMO the fruity sweetness amplifies the meaty, salty umami and vice versa. I’d even go a step further and recommend you try pinapple with olives and anchovies for even stronger contrast. I love that shit.
If it’s not for you, that’s also fine. No conflict here.
