I’m now actively looking for any of the 2009 Illustration Contest cards listed in the first post. I’ve just moved house and I’m in the process of buying furniture, so I can’t guarantee I’d have funds ready straight away, but I’d definitely like to get a feel for whoever has any of these which they’d be willing to part with at my budget.
If I remember right only a couple copies of each matchprint have hit the market, both coming from Rusty, and one Pikachu copy sold for something like 1k to Kevin.(?) Best of luck to you and I hope you find it
There are a few Matchprint cards available on eBay right now, but not many. I don’t think Pichu and Pikachu are anywhere near the same level of value, so I’d like to think I’m offering way above what anyone would have acquired the Pichu version from Rusty. Both Hitmonlee cards sold recently on eBay for around $140 too - the others currently up have been there for several months and I think they’re all priced quite high.
Just for the Christmas period I’m doubling my offer of $500 to $1,000 for a matchprint Pichu. I even made a post on my Instagram about it to show how desperate serious I am about it:
