Wanted to do this post for a very long time but had to wait ages (literally) for some cards to arrive and also change my old binder. Here is my main collection and what keeps me busy and engaged with the hobby as I’m pretty done with prize cards in general. My main goal is to complete every Gyarados card from 1996 to 2002 in every language and every variant, as I figured out that’s how I enjoy this hobby the most. Will leave some comments on each photo, please enjoy! (Beware large images incoming).

Stickers are from 1999 and as you can see I managed to get all 3 Japanese Base Set variants being No Rarity, Small Rarity Symbol and Large Rarity Symbol (which imo is very hard to come by as I only own 1). Also I’m missing the 3 1st Ed. Shadowless cards as I had to sell my thick stamp to fund another project of mine (RIP). Bonus point for my friend’s @azulryu signed sleeve, as this collection was inspired by him.

Have to upgrade my French 1st Ed. to a better condition one but idk why French collectors have this delusion that their cards are worth more than 1st Ed. Shadolwess. Bottom right is the Black Dot Base Set variant.

Same as before I’m missing the French unl Holo. for the master set (RIP)

The top right Shining Gyarados is the double holo variant BUT I don’t have it for this as you can see the double holo is only noticeable on scans, so don’t get too hyped watching all those listings with scanned photos on them cos irl the variant is almost identical. I do have it because it has the “coin” error, so it’s a double holo double error haha (I think only 10% of the unl double holos have this “coin” error so it’s hard to come by. It doesn’t exist in 1st Ed. version. Also all foreign Shining Gyarados look exactly like the english double holo error version).

My goal with modern (2003 onwards, yes, it is what it is) is to own 1 of each art of the 1st copy printed (mostly being japanese 1st ed).

Missing some booster arts.

Yes they are all Small Rarity Symbol…

Why so many? Why not? : )

And here is what everyone has been waiting for, BOOTLEG CRAP!!!

Big flex on that Pokémon Go Shiny, really proud.

Friend’s autos.

I found that Gyarados drawing I made as a kid, guess I really liked the Topps art.

Thanks for sharing my collection with me! I leave some random stuff I own.
(Note, Spanish Holo Series 2 Topps cards are INSANELY hard to come by as they were never released with the booster, but with a Burger King limited promotion. Even in my country it took me years to finally find one and it’s now one of my most cherished cards)

Happy New Year to everyone !!!

I asked the same question in my mind midway through the post and had the same answer as well. Just absolutely gorgeous binder pages and the sea of blue pages look so satisfying. I really enjoyed the extras and bootleg stuff. Fascinating how much stuff there is. Thanks a lot for compiling and sharing your amazing collection.

Cheers!

Thanks for sharing!

I apologize if missed this but what is the story behind the Team Rocket Gyarados submarine drawings you have? I absolutely love them!

Thanks a lot @rtas @mrbubbles !

@Mr.Garrison Those are called settei sheets, they are from Japan I believe the artists used them for references while making the anime. The Gyarados Submarine appears in one episode with Team Rocket. The smaller cut pieces in there are original movie frames from the Mewtwo Movie.
