Package is lost and seller only wants to refund half?

Thanks,
but sometimes the buyer said: “Or underdeclare or nothing”, in some countries you pay 20% taxes… I know it’s wrong underdeclare, but it’s difficult to trade outside US or EU…

As a seller, I have a really hard time understanding how someone can send a $1k+ card uninsured. Here I can get £2500 insured delivery for as low as £40.

Is postal insurance so much more expensive in the US that it makes more sense to send uninsured?

Keep seing cases such as this one pop up on the forum, and can’t quite understand the reasoning behind such decisions by the seller.

USPS does a pretty good job of making sure packages get from one place to another with or without tracking. They assume other countries don’t have their heads up their asses when it comes to this, and it bites them in the butt. They’re wanting the sale, and not thinking about it getting lost, so they’ll jump through those hoops initially to give the buyer what the buyer wants. But once they get bit in the ass once, it’s a never-again lesson.
