What do you feel is being overhyped was overhyped by YouTube or instagram in Pokémon?
Base set charizard
Wotc
Holo swirls
Every new modern chase card
Evolving Skies
Graded cards
Just about to add this…
Seeing stacks of graded cards is grossing me out.
The world needs 5 more psa7 Alcremie Vmaxs in random bulk submissions! Collectors cant get enough!
Seen a lot of streamers looking to buy slab lots these days too. Noticably more than last year
I think because grading is now seen as a way to flip Pokémon cards
Well I think there’s more to it. Graded cards sell on stream or they make good value in mystery boxes because people can buy bulk slabs that won’t sell of vintage 9s and then streamers can assign a high value to their mystery bag. The streamer is not lying when they value a WOTC unlimited 9 at say 75$ but let’s say that WOTC unlimited Holo isnt a popular species. That card would sell on eBay for likely half.
Vintage 9s can be explained as high value still while not being desirable anymore. Selling non 10s now off stream is a nightmare. It’s people clinging to the hype of COVID in streams I think while eBay has essentially moved past COVID.
Mystery boxes.
If it’s Instagram, absolutely anything
Play Umbreon
nothing
This for sure
